Jerry west going in on JJ Redick

JJ redick may have been wrong here and west is right, jj wasn’t a star or an all star so there’s certain things he said that’s off base. Make no mistake tho JJ Redick was an awesome all time shooter, and in a way awesome offensive engine at his peak. 18 a gm 48% from 3 is nuts.

Loved this. You can discuss previous eras and their lack of polish without calling those guys names. JJ got what he asked for

100% like I get the sentiment of jj and what he’s saying some of it I disagree with some of it makes sense but there’s a better way to get it across than disrespecting like that. Like if he came up in that era himself he would probably be a plumber.

Players shouldn't speak about an era they never played in anyway. J.J. was good enough to be a starter for a few years, but to expand on what Mr. West is saying here, he did nothing else great outside of shooting. Was he even good at pulling up off the dribble, like complete shooters do? I know him as a spot-up shooter. Mr. West wasn't only a shooter, but a scorer, a passer and a defender also. One of the most super athletic American White players to ever play! The only player to be Finals MVP on the losing team.

You can just see how annoyed Jerry was but he kept it all class

And let's not forget that the game was more physical with less space than it was in the era J.J. came in. By 2006, the game was becoming less physical.

In Jerry Wests era, you couldn’t palm the ball like today, traveling was actually called and you didn’t have these crazy father steps, there was hand checking, and the rims were HARD. JJ never brings that up
