I find it hard to articulate the immeasurable damage done by a President who was elected to office to serve ALL the American people. Despicably, he chose not to serve the people, but to embark upon a journey of personal enrichment and tax cuts for his rich friends. He was and remains the antithesis of an American President. He sullied the reputation of the greatest power on earth, by making America the butt of cruel but justified jokes. Leaders of democratic nations did not trust or respect him, while America’s enemies queued up to massage his ego and exploit his narcissism for their own gain. His lust for attention and inability to form coherent sentences had the world rolling it’s eyes. When his moment came to prove he cared for the American people, his gross incompetence led to the unnecessary death of hundreds of thousands of those he was elected to protect. To put the icing on the dystopian cake, he refused to honor the will of the American people and incited an insurrection to remain in power. He was, is and will remain a clear and present danger to America until the cancer that he is, is removed from the political conversation. The story of America is unmatched in human civilization. It is the story of undaunted courage, of a bloody independence, of a Republic on the brink, of rebuilding & restoring, of rights being secured, and of sacrifice & liberation of those in the old countries who have lost hope. On the 250th anniversary of our country, a country that has secured more rights, alleviated more poverty, ended more suffering for more people than any other on the face of the earth, I am praying for a renewal of the love and desire to adopt that American identity that so many toiled, labored, and bled to preserve. The story of America is unmatched in human civilization. It is the story of undaunted courage, of a bloody independence, of a Republic on the brink, of rebuilding & restoring, of rights being secured, and of sacrifice & liberation of those in the old countries who have lost hope. It is the creation of a new, American, identity. An identity that since the founding of our country has been open to those who truly desire to be American and adopt a wholly new spirit of being an American as our ancestors did when arriving on the shores of this foreign land. Theodore Roosevelt, an inspirer of men and a believer in the soul of America and in calling his countrymen to the highest of callings which our founding documents and our faith demand of us, knew that adopting this new American identity was necessary to maintain the fabric of our republic. He knew that anyone “who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin.
