I never knew it was a problem until about 15 years ago when a work colleague (who was white, in her 40s then) was perving over a black fella at a do and asked if I thought he was 'gorgeous' and I said "nope. Not my type." She took offense and make it a big deal. I am not offended when black men and women state their preference as black. It doesn't bother me in the slightest. This is a ridiculous reaction.
