“They didn’t know they were writing Scripture.” Meanwhile, Peter: “There are some things in [Paul’s letters] that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the OTHER SCRIPTURES” (2 Peter 3:16).

So you’re saying that Jesus is our ultimate authority, not the Bible, and we know this because it’s written in… The Bible.

Andy Stanley has spent years trying to convince us the Old Testament is less important and less reliable than his opinions of the Old Testament. Therefore, we should replace Moses, Isaiah, Ezekiel and David and their writings with the Book of Andy. This is peak narcigesis.

This is madness. Without the Bible as the final say on any question, it's one man's "Jesus" against another man's "Jesus." That's not authority at all. God's written Word and His Incarnate Word are one and the same. If you untether yourself from the Scriptures, all you have left is a fallen man and his empty religion.

St. Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus gives His authority to the Apostles not to scripture that had yet to be identified, defined, and canonized. There were no “Bible Christians” in the catacombs.

I guess the OT wasn’t God’s Word (Bible) Jesus didn’t have that view.

Jesus’ ministry was grounded in scripture. The fulfillment of prophecy of Jesus is based on scripture. Jesus’ rebuttle to Satan used scripture. Paul’s argument to church leaders were based in scripture. The removal of scripture is a means to dismantle the church.
