JFK warned Israel could lose U.S. support if they didn’t stop lying about their nuclear program. Israeli Prime Minister Ben Gurion never responded to JFK’s letter and resigned a month later to avoid complying with the ultimatum. JFK was assassinated 6 months later and the greatest obstacle standing in the way of Israel obtaining nuclear weapons was removed.
