Angus Taylor’s days are numbered, but replacing him with Andrew Hastie would be absolutely horrendous. Some of the Liberals policies are great, but they were taken from One Nation, they completely turned their backs on voters and went rogue with their “modern Australia.” People simply want a change and the Liberals are choosing to ignore this. Get rid of the lefties in the party, that’s the first step to any real reform.

The “moderates” will never allow him to take the sort of decisive steps he would need to take to win back voters’ trust. Take net zero, for example. He makes many of the right noises but then fails to back leaving the Paris Agreement because he’s held hostage by the “moderate” faction. Without being prepared to leave the Paris Agreement, warm words on net zero mean nothing at all. Pauline is right to call it out.
