So if I didn't go out, they would buy me a six-pack of beer and I could drink at probably 16 or something like that” “I would hang out with my friends and they would say, yeah, they're gonna have a couple beers. I wanted to live like I saw on tv. David: What I love in “The Defiant Ones” …cause everybody feels this way. Especially if you didn't grow up with money. I know exactly what you're talking about. This story comes from when you were an engineer, not a record producer [yet]. You see this producer and he comes in and he's got a leather jacket, a fancy bag, and he's got a beautiful girl. Newt Gingrich hits Jimmy Kimmel with a harsh reality check on the real reason he initially got yanked off the air. “His problem isn’t with... Donald Trump or the First Amendment. His problem is he’s BAD and he’s BORING and he’s PREDICTABLE.” The numbers don’t lie: “He’s lost over a million viewers over the last decade… 72% of viewers in his target demo. That’s a lot. Think about it this way, just as an IQ test, if you lose three out of four of your followers, would you be inclined to stop and ask if you’re doing something wrong, or would you wonder why your former followers are stupid? I guarantee you, in Kimmel’s case, he’s thinking, ‘Gee, I wonder why they’re so dumb, since I’m perfect.’” Jimmy’s numbers were cratering long before the FCC said anything. And he doesn’t have an ounce of self-awareness to consider that maybe HE is the problem. If Jimmy’s show survives, it won’t be because it makes money. "Jimmy Kimmel was fired because he had bad ratings more than anything else, and he said a horrible thing about a great gentleman known as Charlie Kirk," Trump said. "They should have fired him a long time ago, so you know, you can call that free speech or not. He was fired for lack of talent," he added. During his recent monologues, Kimmel made comments surrounding Charlie Kirk's killing and reactions to it. "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said in his monologue on Monday. ABC announced Wednesday that Kimmel's show is suspended indefinitely after Nextstar Communications Group, which operates about two dozen ABC-affiliated stations, criticized Kimmel for his comments on the killing of Kirk and said it would not air the show. The move also came hours after FCC Chairman Brendan Carr called Kimmel's comments "truly sick" and said his agency could "take action" against Disney and ABC.
