Dominique Alexander says he and Karmelo Anthony's family didn't know Austin Metcalf's dad was at their press conference until "one of our security people asked him to move back. [The dad] looked back at him like he was entitled or like he didn't have to move." When a media member told Alexander that was Metcalf's dad "I said...like what? He can't be here. So what we initiated is making sure we secured the facility...We didn't know if he was going to pull out a [gun]. We didn't know what we didn't know."

NRG Strong on the lessons they can take away from their loss to Paper Rex: "I would say the major lesson we probably had was the importance of setting up the players for success. I don't think we did as well as we could today. Maybe there's one or two things we could have done better. I think the major lesson, to be fair, is that our fundamentals are strong. We didn't play badly at all today. But because of how we are as a team, it can always come down to very tight margins. We're a team that doesn't generally blow teams out. We're a team that is so, so good at grinding out rounds and doing that sort of stuff. So I think the big lesson is: we're good, our fundamentals are good, we just have to be tight, and we just can't let anything for error slip in. There are lessons to be taken from this. This wasn't a bad loss. You get bad losses sometimes. It didn't feel like, 'Oh, we don't know what went wrong.' No, we know what went wrong. It's one or two small things, and it's things that we can adapt to, and it's things that will be better under different circumstances, and things that we can make the circumstances better for as well. So yeah, I think that would be the big lesson. We just have to be tight in these circumstances and there's no room for error on our end. That's a big, big, big thing."

Cam Johnson says goodbye to the Nets: "I love the people in that building... I enjoyed it because of that, and I had faith in what we were building because of that. I really think Jordi's a fantastic coach. Playing that one season under him, personnel constantly shifting, we had trades, we had injuries, he always maintained such a good approach to the team, and he was always able to motivate us to play hard. Our record wasn't great, but I think throughout the season we consistently gave effort. And I credit our coaching staff a lot for that. Two years there, playoffs when we first got there. Obviously, we wish we could've been better. And I was willing to do everything in my power to get us back on a winning track. And I think they’ll get there eventually. I think that was a bit disappointing on our side because I think we know how to shut this down because we used to do these kinds of things and we couldn't do it today because, again, like I said, we forgot. I can go through the years, but between 2022 to 2024, we pretty much just made sure that everything was strat-based and we just charged people and hoped that we had better mechanics. Then around 2025, I think we took a look at the year and with how good Yoru was, we just tried to leverage the fact that Yoru could be everywhere on the map and we tried to make sure that we understood the game on a micro level a lot better. Maybe for all you know, it came back to bite us in the ass today. What we needed to do was win the fight and then [inaudible], and we used to be very good at that. Day 30 of 30 of our #fitseptember challenge. We have fought a good fight, we have finished the race, we have kept the faith! 1,200 press-ups is not beans. There have been distractions, doubters, ill health, days where we didn’t want to get out of bed and days we didn’t know how we would survive it. But we didn’t give up. We kept going until victory. I thank everyone what has walked this journey with me. I hope that they have found it rewarding not just physically but also in the challenge’s ability to build resilience, perseverance and staying power. Saint Paul said when he had finished the race that there is a crown of righteousness in store for him. I don’t have a crown of righteousness for those that finished this race with me but I can send a little airtime to each of the 45 people that I know walked the entire journey with me, to say THANK YOU! 🙏🏾

So he's done a really good job of screening, getting his guy onto Luka, onto LeBron, onto Austin, and then we play from there. And again, that's that's an unselfish thing, but it goes back to that we score mentality."
