@jj_redick Example #31,285 of why there’s a shortage of sports officials. If you’re “just a dad”, then support your son’s team. They’re only 8 years old - they’re still learning. And if you’re not interested in that, we could always use new officials. Jump in- the water’s fine.

@jj_redick Man, that guy probably was maybe getting paid $20 for that game & was probably calling 7 or 8 games that day getting trashed by every dad coach in the building. Wasn't me btw so it could've been worse ref wise.

@jj_redick Wow. That is amazing that @jj_redick could be an adult and restrain himself at a youth basketball game. Absolute travesty that his 8 year old basketball team didn’t get a call. I feel terrible for JJ.

@jj_redick Did you ever read, “Why Johnny Hates Sports?” Most kids quit sports by the time they are 13. This ejection story ? That’s why. Mr. 3-pointer may know more about basketball than anyone in the world; but he doesn’t know how embarrassed children get when parents pour on the pressure

@jj_redick I LOVE THIS STORY! I've never been tossed but I did have a ref stop the game and rip me a new one for mouthing off from the bench and it was embarrassing, even 8 years later. It was during my son's 10 year old game. Lesson learned though, I never did it again while coaching.
