They just sit on it, park it in assets, and watch it grow while the rest of the country struggles to afford rent and groceries. It’s not “building the economy” it’s hoarding. And act shocked when people get pissed about it.

The billionares who buy anything and everything are far more ethical than the frugal ones. Buying things recirculates money into the economy, living frugally just lets wealth sit and accumulate, accomplishing nothing.

It not “hoarding money”, and it’s not true. Most of those people the money is locked in as assets and equity in thier business. They can’t take it out unless they get loans on that equity but now they are living on loans

No inheritance tax. Money they burrow is irrelevant, they don’t spend anywhere close to their worth. Many pay back the loans for personal use because it’s easy to sell only a few assets to pay back when it has grown. Encourage them to pay themselves large salaries not accumulate

The whole loan against your assets thing doesn’t work, it’s not as lucrative as you’re making it seam. You still owe money to the bank and if you used the loan money to buy politicians you would have to sell equity (a taxable event) to pay off said loan

Well I think it depends on what people would consider a billionaire or trillionaire. For instance, you mentioned Elon and said he should have $500B taxed via death tax, cause there’s no reason to horde a trillion dollars. Well Elon doesn’t actually have tangible cash to the effect of a trillion dollars. He has stake in companies that are valued that high when combined. If he passes those companies on to his kids or uses trusts, I guarantee you a death tax would never even sniff that equity and it shouldn’t. Elon is one of the only rich people I respect because he truly does influence the economy HEAVILY and provides tons of jobs and a huge commerce flow through his businesses. He might not spend millions or billions in cash (I’m sure he has come close), but his businesses generate billions of dollars to flow through the economy every year.
