Joe Budden asked the cast whether Miguel's hit "How Many Drinks?" would be considered rapey by today's standards. Emanny's answer: Honestly, it was rapey by yesterday's standards too. Joe played the song, and the cast went through it line by line to figure out which ones might be a...

the fact this was is a topic shows how pussified 🥷 have become. we know the context of the song, yet alone, the general club / social gathering scene is made for these interactions. but for whatever reason, we have to put a weird gynocentric view on shit 😑

Back in the 90’s when I was working for R.Kelly’s label part of my job was to type his lyrics into the CD jackets for print. It bothered my conscience and I ended up leaving the music biz and that career behind that I thought I wanted. I indirectly never left as I did some freelance after that and coincidently always dated people in the biz but yeah I couldn’t co-sign what Robert was saying so I bounced and gave up what was once a so called dream job

The issue with modern RnB is the lack of vulnerability. Very few songs make me believe the singer loved the woman they're singing about. Even in a song like Get Gone by Ideal, the energy feels like it comes from being betrayed by a woman he loved so much.

This is exactly why male r&b has died… all them old classics a lil rapey, stalkish, and simpish by today’s standards… meanwhile most female r&b is lesbian so no one looks at the same way

The Joe Budden Podcast reacted to the viral clip of Marc Lamont Hill's wife talking about aging after having a child. Marc said that when the clip first went up on Instagram, the reaction was mostly positive. But once I posted it on X, it turned into something he didn't expect. Most women said they completely got what she was saying, while most men were harsh critics. From there, people started pulling clips from the podcast out of context to push narratives. Ice pointed out that you can't blame people for creating narratives online when that's exactly what the pods do themselves. Marc replied that he's fine with narratives, he just wants to shoot down the ones about his wife. When people are committed to misunderstanding you, he said, it snowballs and gets exhausting. Emanny added that people seem not to have expected Marc's wife to be this expressive or this strong, and that most of the critics are men who like to control women, so seeing her bothers them. Marc agreed, saying these critics see relationships as a form of domination. Joe steered it back, saying the real conversation is what you do when your wife feels that way. Marc admitted he wishes he had a great answer. It isn't the first time he's heard her say it, but he never knew what to say. He wanted to affirm her feelings while also being honest that the world doesn't see it the same way. Ice said the issue is that it's expected to hear that from Marc, since he's her husband.

Joe Rogan reacts to the "Heil Hitler" song 👇 This is such an out of touch take by Joe, and it's seriously disappointing, though it shouldn’t come as a surprise considering how he responded to the Dave Smith and Douglas Murray drama. To be clear, I couldn't care less about the existence of Kanye’s song. Can I look at it from a humorous angle? Sure. Could I say that the melody is catchy? Yeah, I guess. Should it have a right to exist? Absolutely. However, the issue here is Joe trying to claim that the fact major platforms like iTunes or Spotify removed or refused to host Kanye’s song somehow proves that Jews “control everything.” That’s painfully low-IQ beyond belief. Hitler, the Nazis, the Holocaust - these impacted millions of people. It wasn’t just the Jews who were despised by the Nazis, and it wasn’t only the Jews who suffered in the Holocaust. This is by no means an attempt to downplay the suffering and hatred Jews experienced. My point is that millions of people from various backgrounds have been affected by WWII in some way. My grandmother was a non-Jewish Holocaust survivor, and if she were still alive, she would be horrified to hear a song with a chorus praising Hitler. There are many non-Jewish execs with personal ties to the tragedies of WWII who would be disgusted by such a song and who would absolutely influence the decision not to host it on their platforms. The glorification of Nazism and Holocaust denial is also illegal in many countries. Logistically, it would be a nightmare. And let’s not pretend there aren’t plenty of things that are by default considered morally unacceptable, things that are immediately condemned and silenced. Does Joe think that if Eminem released a song about how much he hates Black people, constantly using the N-word to describe them, it would be widely accepted? It wouldn’t. He’d be cancelled instantly. You certainly wouldn’t see people jamming to it on TikTok or discussing whether it should be allowed under the banner of free speech.
