Joe Burrow admits that spending more than three years as a backup at Ohio State made him question whether his confidence was actually delusion “At Ohio State, I was definitely questioning myself. I thought, ‘I’m working so hard in the weight room.’ ‘I’m playing really well in practice.’ But... show more

Sitting on the bench for three and a half years and still believing in yourself like that is the real reason Joe Burrow made it to the top

Epitome of confidence

Love the guy - his first year at LSU wasn’t the best, while Haskins threw for like 50 touchdowns. Joe’s second season is historic.

To be fair, he was injured. That's why Haskins started. But he did what was best for him, and it worked out fantastically

This is what I tell my daughter every day: outwork everyone. Talent gets attention, but consistent hard work earns opportunities.

Sound advice.

All the real shady's are just immi-tating

Some coaches are biased and refuse to see a talented player because they don’t want to

Side note: I thought that was Cody Rhodes at first.

Urbs loyalty to JT cost us dubs. Joe was better

This goes to show you. So many people in life fail at their calling cause they are simply in a place they are not appreciated.

Why the transfer portal was a gift for male athletes!!!

Ohio State didn't know what they were looking at, as is so often the case with the so called experts in all fields. They didn't think Jameson Williams was any good either. The fastest college player and not even good enough to use on Punt or Kick Returns. Morons.

The right situation (team, company, partner) is absolutely everything

The real story is that... OSU doesn't believe in their players 🤔

Bro should have questioned that hairstyle, tf?

He’s a fag

it's easy to look back now and call it faith, but grinding for years with zero external validation is a whole different beast

I would love to tell the Joe Burrow story about his days at O-State. Even about his recruitment. Very few would believe. Anyway, he is doing well now!!!

Sounds like a conversation he should have with a therapist my god

This is why you never quit. Sometimes the world sees your value long after you've already built it

The hardest part is believing in yourself when no one else does.

That’s a good reminder that not every path is a straight line. Keep putting in the work and let the results do the talking. Sometimes the best thing that can happen is the door that doesn’t open. Glad he kept believing in himself.

Good things happen when you leave Columbus 💪🏻

Totally agree with this

I want to see what he looks like without 2 all pro receivers because he been playing with that since college lol

I imagine it would hurt your confidence When you arrived at LSU It seemed like you where ready You where getting on those fellas You don't want to work out with me you don't want to be great type of deal Has there ever been a better college football team on offense?

He's such a pick-me fruit

As a Buckeye fan I'm glad he had enough sense to leave Columbus and win a natty with LSU. Just goes to show that even some of the best coaches get things wrong sometimes.

@josedavis5 Am I the only one who remembers Burrow being absolute 🗑️ his first year at LSU?

Hi, my name is...chicka chicka Slim Shady

Has this dude ever made it through an entire season without some sort of injury??

It was all part of the bigger plan. Allowing Burrow to make his way to LSU and shine. The rest is history after that.

He should have gotten a slump buster to get his mojo back.

Confidence comes from the work

that last line hits like a quiet exhale after three years of holding your breath
