Joe Giglio explains why Bryce Harper’s base running mistake last night was “ridiculous.”

If the ball is in play and Harper is on 3rd with 2 outs because he was making the "right" baseball play, everyone would be happy, I guess. I don't get the bashing of Harper here. It was a spectacular play by Harris. The game was lost earlier when they had 11 LOB & didn't bury the Braves.

@JoeGiglioSports This was the least consequential sequence of events that affected the outcome of that game. Was it wrong for him to do? Sure. But there was a countless amount of other events that helped the Phillies blow this. Bigger things at that too.

@JoeGiglioSports CF playing too shallow (LA mentioned it just prior). Harper watching the play as he runs to 2nd. Incredible catch is made, Harper doubled up. CF doesn't make that incredible catch, we're all praising Harper for his aggressiveness today. THAT was our best chance to tie game

@JoeGiglioSports Yup, why I gave up listening to WIP . Dude just says the most ridiculous stuff to get a reaction. Wish they let Douglas be on his own. Why they tied him to this clown….

@JoeGiglioSports He made the right decision. The chances of that ball being caught were very low. At that time of the game I agree with him. If it dropped and he scored everyone would be praising him. It was a perfect storm for Atlanta.

@JoeGiglioSports I'm sorry since when is the 9th inning down 1 run not a moment to play hero ball!? That play required an incredible defensive play in the outfield and a great throw by the infielder. You can't have Bryce's heroics without being willing to eat a few like last night.
