It was clear though that the Giants were targeting Francis Mauigoa all along with the pick, but Schoen and John Harbaugh weren’t sure if the team trying to trade up would try to take him or if another team would. Joe Schoen did everything he could to avoid drafting Jaxson Dart. Then, standing in front of John Mara, he worded every sentence with calculated precision — because he didn’t believe in Dart. If Dart flopped, Schoen had his built-in excuse: “See? That was Daboll’s guy.” Bottom line: Daboll wanted Jaxson Dart in the top three. The GM only reluctantly allowed a trade back into Round 1 to take him. Everyone mocked the pick. Now the kid looks like a mini-Patrick Mahomes — and somehow, the Giants fire the head coach and keep the GM while giving him the credit. Corniest franchise in sports. Fuck this loser team.

Khosla doesn't get nearly enough credit for their OAI investment. They were the only institutional investor in the first round and they made the investment that was truly hard to make when others thought it was dumb. They aren't the type to take credit but they deserve it here.

John Starks says Julius Erving was the “Michael Jordan of the 70s” and doesn’t get enough credit for carrying the NBA. “I don’t think they give Dr. J enough credit. If you watch Dr. J back in the day, Oh My God! He’s my favorite player growing up. But they got to see Dr. J after he left the NBA, I mean, when they joined the leagues… but Dr. J was so special. He was the Michael Jordan of the 70s and early 80s. He don’t get enough credit. He don’t get talked about enough for being one of the best players ever. Is Nick Sirianni a better coach than Kyle Shanahan? Would the 49ers have made the playoffs if Sirianni was the head coach? Grant Cohn brought this up and I think it’s a very interesting take and debate. I think culture setters at HC are sometimes harder to find than play callers. You can be a great player caller, but can you manage the game, build a culture, hire a quality staff and develop players? Nick Sirianni deserves credit for that, even though Howie Roseman is a great GM. He is 47-20 in four seasons. That’s the highest winning percentage among active coaches. That doesn’t just happen because of talent. 49ers fans discredit Sirianni because of his personality, how he carries himself, the Big Dom - Dre Greenlaw incident, but at the end of the day, that has nothing to do with his coaching. Can’t wait to see the responses here, but Sirianni has won double digit games in three straight seasons, with 13+ wins in 2022 and 2024. 🏈

President Trump deserves great credit for making a decision for the first time in modern history to unleash the armed forces of the United States against Iran last year and this year… But I do have very real concerns about the MOU now that we see what’s In it and also what’s Not In It. This MOU with Iran does smack of the kind of appeasement that our administration rejected in the Obama-Iran nuclear deal and also when Joe Biden attempted to return to the politics of appeasement during his administration. I would urge the President to take a step back, continue the blockade and pursue a negotiated settlement that commits Iran to dismantling their nuclear program, dismantling this missile program, ends support for terrorist proxies and opens the strait. Failing that, we should let our Armed Forces finish the job on our terms.
