A father found out that his son's middle school, Cascade Middle School in Seattle (part of Highline Schools), brought him to an anti-ICE protest in middle of the school day. His son's teacher left the classroom with all the other students, leaving him alone in the classroom. He didn't want to be alone and therefore went along. The teachers took the kids on a walk through White Center, Washington for the protest. Many areas there aren't particularly safe. Per the father, the school alleged that they gave the kids options if they wanted to go or not. They also claimed that it was the kids' choice to protest and that the teachers were just joining. Per the school's principal, both teachers and school security were in attendance. This violates Washington State law 28A.605.010, which prohibits children from being removed from school grounds during school hours without permission from the children's parents or legal guardian.

Baloch Literacy Campaign The Baloch Literacy Campaign presents the poor condition of the Government Girls Middle School, Cheel, Greshag Khuzdar, Balochistan. This is a middle school which has only two teachers, who are teaching the students on contractual basis. He advocated for a school feeding program where a child in Nigeria can be assured of a pint of milk, a sandwich and egg. The funny thing is that he did it as Governor of Lagos in partnership with Cadbury, Nestle etc. School feeding program is key to enrolment and attendance. If the almajiri child is assured of food in school, he will go to school. Even their parents would be the ones to push them to school. If a child on the streets of Lagos can eat a decent meal in School, they will stay in class. The UK has a comprehensive school feeding program. The US has a National School Lunch Program. This morning we visited this abandoned Smart School in Ngor Okpala LGA, Imo State to get first hand information on the current state of the school and also chart a way forward. The total budget for this abandoned school was N3.6 billion. It was completed last year. The school was funded by Korean government in partnership with UBEC. 6 of these schools were built in the 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria. This one was built to serve the entire South East region. The reason it was abandoned since last year was because there was no provision for teachers accommodation. It was part of the origin design but the contractor didn't execute that for reasons best known to them. The villagers took up the responsibility to guard the school daily, and that's why not a pin has been stolen in the school yet. Tablets, Smart Boards and other devices are still packed inside IMSUBEB warehouse, because the school is not in use. The school is also not yet connected to the national grid, so no light in the school. They had few solar panels installed though. This school can take 880 students. What they need now is lodge where teachers and corpers can stay so they start operation. The school is inside the bush. What should we do to get this school up and running immediately?

The Minister For Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has revealed that the newly built Accra Stem Academy is set to be commissioned on the 2nd December 2024 by H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The model school, the first of its kind as a public school will be principally dedicated to the study of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics for over 1000 students across Kindergarten to High School.
