They sit 9-3 in Conference Carolinas play after a sweep of Emmanuel and are on a tear offensively, per usual (hitting .330 as a team). Brett Blomquist is on a tear, speaking of, he's hitting .460! Six other qualified hitters are hitting above .320. Just a great offense that's tough to beat all around. The pitching staff has been solid, pitching to a 3.42 ERA. Bennett Roemer has been the lead behind the success, he has a 2.70 ERA on the season. #D2Baseball

Amazing night at BOA. Official attendance was 82,193 and $24,513,185 raised to help those impacted by Hurricane Helene in Asheville and Western N.C. Country music star Luke Combs put this all together. He’s been hard on the Panthers this season but he spoke with great gratitude for all owner David Tepper did in providing the stadium, staff, parking and so much more free of charge to make the event possible.

Former Alabama shortstop Jim Jarvis continues to prove why he belongs in the big leagues. Tonight was a prime example of why. In his first start after the MLB All-Star break, Jarvis finished 2/5 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Since joining the Braves at the beginning of July, Jarvis has made seven starts. Former paratrooper Matt Styler, 50, has been found not guilty of assaulting the police by Judge William Mousley KC at Southampton Crown Court. Ex-soldier Matt was violently attacked and arrested by officers from Hampshire Constabulary at a Henry Nowak protest on the 2nd of June for no clear reason. Matt was then held in custody for 15 days before being bailed. In court the CPS stated that the the evidential test had not been met in the case, and the prosecution was therefore offering no evidence against the defendant, leading to a not guilty verdict. We wish Matt all the best and hope he sues Hampshire Constabulary for everything.

The recent unprecedented weather event in the UAE and the operational disruptions it caused at #DXB have been a great challenge for us all, but it has been the most challenging for our guests who’ve had to spend much longer than they expected at our terminals. To bring some comfort to them during this time, our team of ground staff and volunteers has worked tirelessly around the clock to deliver more than 73,000 packs of snacks and water. We understand the frustration and distress that the past few days have caused many travellers, and we thank you all for your patience and understanding as our operations recover. This evening, Israeli residents set fire twice to the perimeter of the UNRWA Headquarters in occupied East Jerusalem. This took place while UNRWA and other UN Agencies’ staff were on the compound. While there were no casualties among our staff, the fire caused extensive damage to the outdoor areas. The UNRWA headquarters has on its grounds a petrol and diesel station for the Agency’s fleet of cars. Our director with the help of other staff had to put out the fire themselves as it took the Israeli fire extinguishers and police a while before they turned up. A crowd accompanied by armed men were witnessed outside the compound chanting “Burn down the United Nations” (see video below 👇 from Israeli media). This is an outrageous development. Once again, the lives of UN staff were at a serious risk. In light of this second appalling incident in less than a week, I have taken the decision to close down our coumpound until proper security is restored. Over the past two months, Israeli extremists have been staging protests outside the UNRWA compound in Jerusalem, called by an elected member of the Jerusalem municipality. This week, the protest became violent when demonstrators threw stones at UN staff and at the buildings of the compound. Over the past months, UN staff have regularly been subjected to harassment and intimidation. Our compound has been seriously vandalized and damaged. On several occasions, Israeli extremists threatened our staff with guns. It is the responsibility of the State of Israel as an occupying power to ensure that United Nations personnel and facilities are protected at all times. UN staff, premises and operations should be protected at all times in line with international law. I call on all those who have influence to put an end to these attacks and hold all those responsible accountable. The perpetrators of these attacks must be investigated and those responsible must be held accountable. Anything less will set a new dangerous standard.

Steven Kampfer has announced his retirement from professional hockey after nine seasons in the NHL. Steven was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft after his freshman season at the University of Michigan, and would play all four seasons for his hometown school, winning national championships in 2008 and 2010. The defenseman joined the NHLBruins via trade in March 2010, and made his NHL debut the following season on December 12, 2010. Two months later, on February 12, 2011, he scored his first NHL goal, putting a second-period shot past Tampa Bay’s Dan Ellis. Steven appeared in 38 games for Boston during the 2010-11 campaign as he and the Bruins went on to hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup on June 15, 2011. Steven played 113 regular-season games for Boston before joining the Minnesota Wild ahead of the 2012 trade deadline. He remained with the Wild franchise until 2014, signing with the New York Rangers in July before ultimately joining the Florida Panthers for the 2014-15 season. After his time in Florida and a return to New York, Steven rejoined the Bruins from 2018-21. His final professional seasons were split between the KHL and AHL, and wrapped up with Chelyabinsk this past season. Steven finishes his NHL career with 231 regular-season games played, registering 15 goals and 39 points. Internationally, Steven proudly represented his country as an alternate captain for Team USA at the 2022 Olympics. Notes from today’s #Bengals practice: - Overall, another winning day for the defense, but not as conclusive as recent practices - Cashius Howell popped in a big way on a couple rushes off the edge against Orlando Brown using both speed and power. Also blew by Andrew Coker for a would-be sack. Probably his best practice to date. The fact Zac Taylor referenced him having the same tenacity as Erick All tells you what you need to know about he’s viewed. - Vet day for Chase meant extra passes for Tee Higgins. Hit some, but still off at times, working to get their connection down (nobody should be worried about this). - Ugly drop by Andrei Iosivas to close practice on a crosser. A lot to like about where Iosivas is at, but he just has to eliminate those moments from his game or he’ll be watching Colbie Young before long. - Offense had been very good operationally this camp, but a delay of game and false start showed up today. -Dax Hill still limited, DJ Ivey and DJ Turner both with PBUs. 📽️ Jalen Davis with a nice play on third down with a PBU -Colbie Young had a drop, but also the recipient of one of Burrow’s best balls of the day running a seam between Knight at Battle.

Tylor Chase, who played Martin Qwerly on ‘Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide’, has been found living on the streets of Los Angeles in a viral video viewed millions of times on TikTok. During his acting career, he starred in Everybody Hates Chris in 2005 and as Young Adam in the 2008 film Good Time Max. A GoFundMe page was set up to support the former actor in September, however it was shut down shortly afterwards with his mother saying she appreciated the effort but he is unable to manage money. “I appreciate your effort. But money would not be a benefit to him. I have gotten him several phones, but he loses them within a day or two.
