Centralized #Bitcoin miners will always follow the path of least resistance. If the State tells them to do something they are going to do it. They don't want to be responsible for leading Bitcoin because they have executives, board members, and investors who can be held to some account if a State does not like what they are doing. An appropriately functioning network of decentralized nodes provides both leadership to the miners as well as cover from the encroachment of the State. If the miners are doing something the State doesn't like then they can pass the buck to the bitcoiners who run nodes that set and enforce the rules of the network. However, if bitcoiners defer their responsibilities to the top 5 mining nodes then they have essentially surrendered the network to the State. In August, the path of least resistance for the miners will be to flip the bit and activate BIP110. This guy explains that this war isn’t Putin’s and Zelensky’s. It’s Russia’s war, and anyone who supports it. It seems so off to hear that Russians are sorry for deaths on both sides after facing what they preferred not to see before. They didn’t care about Ukrainians dying. They’re scared now and they deserve it. Also, Russians can end it in a second. They don’t demand it because they don’t want to lose. However, I disagree that the Russian army is the second strongest in the world and that Ukraine has almost no military. Unfortunately, Russia has many useful idiots willing to die for their Czar and imperialism, so Ukrainians have a lot of work to do and need a lot of support to deter them.
