John Coltrane - ts, Eric Dolphy - as, McCoy Tyner - p, Jimmy Garrison - b, Elvin Jones - dr play "Impressions" (John Coltrane) - produced by Joachim Ernst Berendt for his TV series "Jazz – gehört und gesehen" for Süddeutscher Rundfunk (SDR) in Stuttgart, in November of 1963.

"Elmore Leonard meets Nabokov, Michael Crichton meets Vonnegut, Carl Hiaasen meets Joseph Heller. And it has what is probably the best gunfight in literary history."

Impressions is all the white notes with a bridge of all black notes and although Dolphy’s approach obscures the differences somewhat I love the energy!

If you know, you know

The quintessential quartet plus Dolphy has there been a better quintet ,I don't think so. 🎼😎

@whoiseverton ele sabia

Every time I hear those patterns I remind myself to study Dolphy more. Everyone is a Trane-imitator, but Dolphy is out there jammin'.

@brcena Love me some Coltrane🎶🎵💕

🤗🥰🤗

What a mess.
