In 2019, De La Soul, after years of public disputes with Tom Silverman (owner of Tommy Boy Records) urged their fans to boycott the streaming of their back catalog because the label would be keeping 90% of the streaming revenue generated, leaving only the remaining 10% for the trio to split amongst themselves. Jay-Z, in an effort to show solidarity with the group, reached out to them to see how he could support. They agreed to remove De La Soul’s back catalog from streaming on TIDAL until the matter was resolved. Removing the music from streaming would hurt the label financially. After Jay-Z and TIDAL’s initiative, Apple Music and Spotify also joined in and agreed to remove their music from streaming. Which ultimately led to new negotiations between the group and the label, and the matter was finally resolved. Jay-Z did this without having ANY business ties of any kind to De La Soul. In fact, choosing to not stream their back catalog, while that same music was still available for streaming on competitor streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify, was actually a bad business move for TIDAL. But Jay felt that it was far more important to stand with his peers and unite against the exploitation of artists.

jfk jr.’s last night alive (thursday, july 15, 1999). “that night, after john had gotten his cast removed, john and gary ginsberg went together to the yankees game. the pair were driven by car service to yankee stadium to attend an interleague night game between the yankees and the atlanta braves. ginsberg had also invited to the game james and lachlan murdoch, rupert's two sons. they all sat together in the box of george steinbrenner, the yankees' owner. part of the idea was to have john meet the murdoch sons to see if there might be some interest in news corporation replacing hachette as john's partner for george. george was not the only topic of conversation that evening. gary recalled, "it was not a good last night for john. i think his most immediate concern was "what do i do with george?" it was an unsettling period. there were a lot of unknowns in his personal and professional life. but what he was talking about that night was running for governor against pataki. there was a lot of uncertainty. he didn't want to get divorced. he was a sticker, not someone who looked to get out of things. he looked at his sister's marriage and saw how happy it was and wanted the same for himself. so i'm thinking, in a perfect world, it all works out". in the long car ride to and from the stadium, gary talked with john about his political ambitions. john mentioned that he was eyeing the new york governor's race in 2002. Over 20 million people entered a worldwide lottery for the chance at being one of the lucky 18,000 fans in attendance. This concert was done as a tribute to the great Ahmet Ertegun, who was the co-founder and president of Atlantic Records. Fans waited 27 years for a reunion like this following the passing of drummer John Bonham, and as evidence in this clip, it did not disappoint. For such a long hiatus, Zeppelin was firing on all cylinders throughout the 2.5 hour performance on this evening. Furthermore, the emotion of the night was intensified due to Zeppelin tapping into Bonhams son, Jason Bonham, to fill the big shoes his father had left behind. Robert Plant was as lively as ever, showing his skills as the ultimate frontman, while Jimmy Page’s guitar playing was beyond impressive. John Paul Jones was a true wildcard, adding his thunderous bass and seriously underrated synth skills to the evening. and Jason Bonham did his father proud, perhaps stealing the show with his note-perfect playing on the drum kit. Recorded in 1974 at Headley Grange, this masterpiece found its home on the iconic double album, ‘Physical Graffiti.’ This song was a defining milestone for the band, all four members have agreed that it was one of their greatest musical achievements. Jimmy was asked by The Edge how this riff came to be during the film “It Might Get Loud”, and he explained that it was born out of him experimenting with the DADGAD tuning, which is similar to a sitar tuning. The ending riff to that song was the descending section we hear on “Kashmir” and Jimmy flipped it over on itself to create the riff we know today - truly a hypnotic riff that intoxicates you every time you listen. In the early 1990s, MicroUnity was backed by over $100 million from companies like Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Motorola, and telecommunications leaders like Time Warner and John Malone at Tele-Communications Inc. In addition to Schneider, Nikolas named Ezel Channel, the production assistant for “Adam Sandler’s 8 Crazy Nights” who was convicted of molestation at Nickelodeon, Brian Peck, the dialog coach for “All That” and “Comedy Boot Camp,” who was convicted of molesting a child on set. Marty Weiss, Nickelodeon’s child talent manager who was convicted raping a child on set. Jason Handy, production assistant for “The Amanda Show” who was a convicted pedophile and John Kricfalusi, creator of “The Ren and Stimpy Show” who was accused of sexually abusing teenagers. TMZ and the media reported on their 1 minute interview with her but never showed this footage. They also claimed she was there to protest a “hostile work environment” yet another example of how they controlled the narrative when we didn’t have X and Rumble. I recently stumbled upon this egbon adugbo‘s page on Instagram. His name is Hon. Lekan Kamson, and he’s based in Manchester, England. He seems like a very interesting person. Every area has a key figure like him; the unofficial mayor who knows everybody and somehow keeps the entire neighbourhood in order. A few things stood out to me while going through his page: • He’s clearly an influential figure in the Moston area of Manchester. • He seems to know everyone, either by virtue of his work or the connections he’s built over time. His page is full of photos and videos of him with popular Nigerian celebrities and entertainers. • He’s an all-rounder and an all-in-one, as his name “Allweatherhandyman” suggests. • His Instagram profile says he’s into property rentals, removal services, catering, gardening, DJ services, photography, BBQ catering, and event planning. You can’t be involved in all of these and not know people. I’m sharing this video because I see someone quietly making a meaningful impact in his corner of the world.
