Because it's easy to look at the data center stuff and be like, "Well, everyone's against building data centers." I was reflecting on the whole reindustrialization meme this weekend. And I was thinking about the actual knock-on effects of reindustrialization — most people don't want a car factory in their town. I actually think people don't really want change. They don't want things built. Data centers are probably at the bottom of the list. They're the least popular. But people don't want stuff built, generally. There are very few things that people are like, "Yeah, I'd be down for that to be built." People like the status quo. They're happy with things as they are. And they don't like change. People block home construction all the time. Also, permitting and expansion of existing homes. I'm not saying that they're as unpopular as data centers. Data centers are at the bottom. But new housing in communities is like razor's edge. I do think there's an element of like, Americans don't want to build anything.

Cursor vs Claude Code (day 3 of 30) today I re-tested Conductor and I don't want to overhype this but... what the actual fook 😮 this thing is amazing! closest things to the "perfect workflow" I have seen in a long time, and it's something I could see myself use full-time it's so minimal and the polar opposite of Cursor but it has all the essentials → Claude Code + Codex subscriptions (= unlimited usage) → great integration with Claude Code's plan mode → multiple tabs with multiple agents at the same time → can use multiple models, not just one → great file tree and diff viewer → best git worktree support I've ever seen there's honestly so much more, like a dedicated "review" button (which you can pair to your favorite review model, e.g. gpt-5.2-extra-high), buttons to create and merge pull requests, to launch your dev server, ... this solves literally EVERY fault I can think of when using Claude Code and/or Codex, combining both into one easy UX that not only does everything the tools can do, but actually adds useful stuff on top just 6 months ago I couldn't have dreamt about any this and the wildest part is that IT IS FREE (I'd literally pay for this UX lol) first time I'm genuinely enjoying myself since starting this challenge not saying it's a full Cursor replacement yet, it obviously isn't for a lot of people (no browser, no debug mode, no code indexing, etc) ... but this is the closest thing I've seen yet 👀 follow for day 4!

🚁 My war drone simulator Apocalypse Drone now has support for 32 players! I also made it Conquest/CTF so you have multiple bases that you have to capture, each round the map is procedurally generated and random so every time it's different (like Battlefield) There's still some bugs to work out and most importantly I have to figure out soldier animations, because they're fixed models now But I have got really far this time I think and coding with AI is really way further than it was a year ago, you mostly notice that how few times you get stuck, only one time this month building this I got stuck which was today where I moved the AI players to the server and they kept showing up as invisible, very buggy, every time I told it that it couldn't fix it though Then I asked it to fundamentally analyze the current server-side AI player code and make it work like industry standard, and it took a long time and fixed everything Last year I'd get stuck hundreds of times and the AI just couldn't get itself out of a hole, but now it can I think it's impressive that just last year only for the first time we could make actual games with AI But this year as non-game dev, I can get pretty close to the level of a multiplayer game from 20y ago (like Battlefield 1942, that lots of ideas here are based on, but with drones :D) Obviously we're still far away from AAA (I hate that term though) but the curve of exponential progress is there again, as it was in AI image generation, then video, and now code, first bad, then better, then good enough!
