John Madden's first Miller Lite commercial🍺 September 14, 1980

Timeless…. And even if you had something to do… you sort of listened and grinned ..even if was the 100 th time it aired.

Kev, I love your posts!! Day after day week after week, month after month, best consistent posts always!!

My kid, born in the 2010s: “Wow, he was like a real guy, not just a video game?” 😂

I miss having him as part of the announcing team in NFL games.

The Lite Beer ad campaign was the one time you didn’t complain about commercials while watching sports

Coach had just retired, too.

So that was the inspiration for Mark Davis’ haircut

Classic, although, when I order a beer, I do like Smokin' Joe! Lite had the very best commercials, the gold standard. Today's ads are just so awful in comparison. Lite tastes great, now listen here....Lite Beer from Miler really knocks me out.

Amazing impression of John Candy by John Madden

@paulyhoward @MitchMossRadio 46 years ago today Miller Lite with the first of many John Madden commercials. People forgot that back in the day people actually wanted to watch commercials.

🍻

Back when we used to have a country.

What an influence in sports and culture! RIP, Sir. 🫡 And I too believe the busts talk in the Hall. What great talks!

Who was the hair stylist on this shoot?
