John Mbadi, you're saying Raila Odinga won in 2007 without kikuyu votes, with barely 2% of the vote from Central Kenya. Fair enough. But here's what you're leaving out. In 2007, BABA had broad support across multiple regions large backing in Luo Nyanza, significant support in Western, strong support... in Ukambani, much of the Coast, and substantial backing in parts of the Rift Valley. So the question is: if you're using 2007 as your comparison, what equally broad coalition does President Ruto have today? Political victories are built on coalitions, not on one region alone. If you have any doubt about the plan by President William Ruto and his government to isolate the people of Mt. Kenya listen to this. Ruto defends his decision to award bonuses to sugarcane farmers and attacks critics saying that if coffee and tea farmers (Mt. Kenya predominantly) are being given bonuses what is wrong when a sugarcane farmer from western Kenya gets the same? Ruto is intentionally saying this to portray the Kikuyu community in bad light. That they want economic stimulus initiatives for themselves and not for other communities. Ruto goes ahead to name all the sugar companies in Western and Nyanza which are set to benefit from this initiative. I said it here that Ruto will give a wide berth to the Mt. Kenya region.

Simply put, about 64% of the vote behind the current Raila-Ruto Mongrel Government is from the region. 3.But why has almost 95% of Mt. Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi: Ruto has fallen behind in opinion polls, not accidentally. He has lost the mountain; he has not been able to do a popular grab of the Luo electorate as he had expected. He is not gaining traction in Ukambani; he has lost much of what he had gained within the Luhya community. In such a situation, a rational political player goes for a charm offensive; you want people to like you, you want to appear like you are assuring everybody. Ruto is the one who is starting to talk like Sudi, so it is Sudi impacting Ruto more than Ruto impacting Sudi. What do you gain as a president who is struggling to regain support by insulting credible leaders in communities where you are looking for support? #JKLive

So, why is President William Ruto taxing and borrowing at the same time? Well, let's all agree that all the external loans that were taken in the 10 years of Uhuru Kenyatta started to fall due in 2023, right? Kenya is currently using almost 60% of its revenue towards the repayment of interest on loans and loan installments. Where does this leave Ruto's administration? With only 40% to manage both the recurrent and development budgets, can 40% fund even a recurrent budget alone? The answer is no. What does Ruto do? He has to borrow in order to manage both recurrent and development budgets.

In this video, Hon. Farah Maalim, MP for Daadab, vows to lead the entire Northern Kenya political fraternity into the opposition if President William Ruto fails to rein in CS Aden Duale, whom he accuses of creating discord and deepening divisions across Northern Kenya. Farah repeats the moniker “Sultan Hasidi,” coined by Senator Abdul Haji of Garissa County, in reference to Duale. He tells President Ruto to choose between retaining Duale and losing the political support of the entire Northern Kenya region to the opposition. Farah adds a stark warning: “If we start the campaign against you, it will not take us 14 days to sack you as Cabinet Secretary.” The message is unmistakable: the political patience of Northern Kenya’s leadership may be running out.

Gachagua Vows to Make Ruto a One-Term President Former DP Rigathi Gachagua on Monday swore to do whatever it takes to make President William Ruto a one-term president. Speaking alongside opposition politicians Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa, Gachagua declared that he will work with all Kenyans to challenge Ruto’s administration and ensure the president doesn’t see a second term in office. He lashed out at Ruto’s government, calling it a dictatorship and accusing the president of being intolerant. "He wants his way, and all those ministers are just flower girls," Gachagua said, adding that he was the only one who could stand up to Ruto. Gachagua has repeatedly criticized Ruto’s administration since his ouster through impeachment in October 2024. He decried the government as a “one-man show,” claiming ministers have been reduced to mere sycophants. He called on Kenyans to rise against Ruto and warned that any reckless statements made by Ruto or his officials should be documented and forwarded to the International Criminal Court. The former DP has also been forging alliances with political figures he previously opposed. Just recently, he met Martha Karua, the NARC Kenya leader and Raila Odinga’s running mate in 2022, to discuss how they could unite and challenge Ruto’s “dictatorship.” Gachagua’s political future is taking shape through consultative meetings with leaders from different sectors at his Wamunyoro home in Nyeri. In another fiery statement, Gachagua revealed that Mt Kenya could support Western Kenya in the 2027 election, just as they backed Ruto in 2022. He warned that Ruto should not take Western Kenya’s support for granted, and said Mt Kenya could even back Kalonzo Musyoka. Gachagua pointed out that Ruto’s 47% support in Mt Kenya, which contributed to his victory, is now up for grabs and that the region has already started shifting its political allegiance. The former DP also tore into the promises made to Western Kenya, accusing the government of failing to deliver on its pledges, including the promised 1,000 kilometres of tarmacked roads.
