Exactly.. It is all about the narrative. An open discourse + an unbiased humanistic view leads to a clear simple understanding. This occupation didn't work as it was intended because the Palestinians survived... Everything else is noise. Real antisemitism is the daily murder and displacement and abuse of the Palestinian people.

It's in Israel and US interest to paint this as antisemitic but Oct 7 was an operation against oppressive occupiers. It's ridiculous cause it would be like saying that slaves fighting against their masters did it because they were anti-white racist.

@zei_squirrel is there basis and benefit to framing Israel as a dictatorship as agitprop? Occupation, apartheid, etc seems alien to the western mind. Whereas those in the west do understand and have an emotional response to dictatorship.

I think occupation and apartheid do resonate in the West given the South African experience and recently with the hysterical propaganda campaign on Ukraine re the former. I don't think that's true with dictatorship, requires too much detail and propaganda to wade through

Hey@zei_squirrel Prof Mearsheimer also says Hamas also doesn’t want 2 States. Not sure if that is the case since he also repeated many times the problem is the far right government in Israel. I have also heard opposite from Norman Finkelstein. Does Chomsky has similar statement ?

in that interview he says Hamas is currently not interested in that, but neither is the Israeli occupation regime and they are far more extreme. But the historical record is clear, Hamas has repeatedly tried the diplomatic approach and was rejected:

John Mearsheimer's views are great. I watch his interviews all the time. And he is on point here. But he also calls Oct 7th a terrorist attack by Hamas.
