Complete nonsense. In reality in 2021 Canada’s emissions were 670 megatons. It’s largely unchanged. So that means the reduction of 22 megatons by 2030 would equal a reduction by 3%. That’s 3% of 1.6%. Which is beyond insignificant. Canada is only responsible for 1.6% of Global GHG Emissions. The idea that taxing “carbon emissions fuel” could have an effect on a global issue that we’re only responsible for a sliver of is not only misguided, it’s irresponsible. It’s the analogous equivalent to Canada trying to empty a swimming pool with tablespoon while Eastern Europe, The Middle East, and Asia fill it with a firehose. It’s nothing more than fraud, racketeering, extortion, and conspiracy to commit all three masked as virtue.
