The SBU tried to downplay the whole thing by issuing a statement claiming that the whole thing is a "joint operation" between SBU and GUR trying to save Kalpunov (only naming him as a "Russian opposition leader") from a Russian assassination attempt. By now, there's tons of police in the area trying to get both sides to calm down and stop shooting.
