I'm an immigrant. 10 years ago I applied to become a citizen, went through the process of interviews and test, got my citizenship and was able to cast my vote. Sounds like it's already working as intended!

Fun Fact: If you sign up to vote and you're not a citizen, you've broken the law and will face punishment. Jail terms vary by state. It doesn't happen because it's not worth it.
