Deluxe Edition owners and above can participates in our Beta tests. Bellum can be purchased directly through our website over at

@ToastFPS There will not be a traditional Open Beta period. Instead, we will provide our players with what we call "Recruit" keys, that allow their friends to try Bellum out for a pre-determined amount of time. This will happen throughout our Beta period.

Hey @PlayBellum, would you ever consider sharing regional player population (even broadly)? I get it’s sensitive, but in OCE we’re spending money on a game that often becomes unplayable due to low population + matchmaking. Transparency would really help set expectations

While we won't talk about specific numbers, we can say that the majority of our playerbase is located in NA. That being said, there are a few community members from OCE that actively participate. We expect to expand our reach through our Beta period to address this situation.

@PlayBellum Should be able to play to NA from OCE for games like this, squad is a good example, ping is often a non-issue

@PlayBellum Having played Squad, I know what you mean, but then there’s often other issues around playtimes eg it’s well after midnight for them now when I’m just home from work. I’ll follow it along and see anyway! I’ve joined the Discord for updates.

Not being on Steam allows us to own the entire stack behind Bellum, we own the infrastructure that supports it. Beta launch April 10th. Early Access later this year.

This is Closed Beta, or simply Beta. Early Access is planned for later this year. This opens up testing to Deluxe Edition owners in addition to the Supporters and Founders that have been playtesting Bellum for months at this point.

Closed Beta, we will have some "Recruit" weekends which will allow existing owners to extend an invite to try out Bellum, other than that, we will continue on this model through the entire duration of this phase.

I wish you much success on the launch of your Bellum game. Bellum looks and sounds badass but sadly I will have to wait if it ever releases on Steam. My friends and I that play games like Arma, Squad, Ready or Not and Ground Branch, well were all Steam Users for 20+ Years, None of us are gonna buy it unless it releases on Steam at some point. Not a one of them every purchased Tarkov and now that its even on Steam no one is interested in it. My other friend said he will never buy another game that isn't on Steam after having a bad experience with Star Citizen and he strongly also advised us all not ever buy a game unless its on Steam. No one wants to use a bunch of different launchers or browser games like old school Battlefield 3 which ended up being garbage when EA origins system always sucked. Bad experiences. I hope you guys get the base players you want as well because all these companies that left Steams early on (EA, Ubisoft, Activision, even Microsoft) they all came crawling back to Steam. I lived though it all! Seriously Good Luck!! You Game Looks Badass!

It is simply not within the scope of our game at this moment in time. Doing so would force us to compromise Bellum's goals in ways we are not willing to do so.

Is the beta going to be scheduled playtests like the alpha has been or will it have more consistent uptimes to just hop on and play?

Beta will start out with Friday to Sunday playtests, but rapidly transition into 24/7 servers.

Looks solid but without a free open beta I will not engage. Sorry. I'm just tired with all the wannabe good releases that end up with low player counts and countless bugs / missing features.
