LIFE UPDATE: After three amazing years with KNWA & FOX24 News, I am so happy to announce that I've officially earned my meteorology degree with Mississippi State University! God has blessed me with so many things, and my passion for the weather has always been a significant part of my life! Back in May of 2022, I was attending a Naturals game at Arvest Ballpark and was getting ready to move to Starkville, MS to pursue a graduate degree with MSU. Little did I know, Dan Skoff would reach out to me over the phone with an offer to join the team! We talked extensively about my goals at the time, and ended up deciding that I would come into the studio one day to make a quick reel on the green screen. Two months later in July, I landed the job with KNWA and have been working here ever since then! In tandem with the job, I was also working tirelessly to earn my meteorology degree through Mississippi State. The process has been an absolute grind at times, but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world! This community is so special to me, and I couldn't be more thankful to work in this wonderful area! There are so many people that have supported me over the last three years to help me get to this point: Dan Skoff - Words cannot describe how much you mean to me man! You've been there with me every step of the way, and the knowledge I've gained from you has been invaluable! You are a blessing in my life, and I'm so thankful you reached out to me all of those years ago! You're an amazing mentor and friend, and I will forever be grateful for what you have done for me! Lisa Brence and Lisa Kelsey - Thank you so much for taking a chance on me and giving me this opportunity to serve this incredible community! This has been such a blessing for me, and both of you have been instrumental in fueling my passion for weather! Motara is trending because again, twitter is dragging the influencer over the disturbing 2020 beggar video. It landed her a BBC interview. Actually, that video went viral in 2020 when she, Motara casually posted how her mom used to hawk while raise her, and now life is better. As she posted this on twitter, people who had her contact on WhatsApp, used the video to attack her. Apparently, Motara first posted the video on her WhatsApp for cruise, but her friends advised her to delete it because it was offensive. Unfortunately, some people already saved it. So when she came on twitter do the thanks giving of her mom, they quoted her with the video. Then it went viral. In the video Motara Lawrence was taunting a street beggar with a chilled energy drink through her car windows, as she moved in traffic, the kid followed her car and she continued the tease. Seeing how heavily social media criticized it, she instantly apologized again on Twitter, after the apology she made on WhatsApp. The dragging was intense it literally affected her mental health, and cost her some opportunities. It even landed her an interview with BBC. In her apology she explained that she was just playing with the girl and she wasn’t laughing at her. Instead, a lady in the background. That, she didn’t expect the girl to follow her after the traffic moved, but after the video ended, she gave the girl money. Seeing that her apology wasn’t enough, because people insisted she did it for the clout. And this was because, this was the period fearless energy drink was doing promotions. So… she actually went back to look for the girl to beg her, but alas the girl was no where to be found. Fast forward to 2025, Motara casually made another post asking tweeps to share the experience of classism. As expected, the unfortunate video resurfaced. Again, she apologized. This time, more people are on her side, unlike the first three to five times twitter have dragged her for the November 2020 incident. lee minho was born to be the leeknow he is. he loves to show off, he loves to attend fashion shows, he loves to get compliments, he loves to show his work and show stays his dancing and cover songs so he could let us hear his voice, without auto tone without editing, just him and his mic. he have said twice that hes only that happy, giggly and chatty only when hes with stays, either during concerts or fansigns. the perfectness in him isnt enough for him and he's gladly working harder for more. he worked so hard even tho he's already perfect and amazing but it just doesn't satisfy him which proves how determined he is, how passionate and loving he is to his career. he lives such a healthy life, very mature mindset and a big love for his career. he loves it, he would love to be included, involved, being filmed and all attention on him. even tho his career has been the most successful, he will always continue on improving and wanting more, his greed and need to grow more and become more and more powerful and talentful always amaze me. im so happy to witness such... fascinating person who worked hard ever since he was a child, different jobs until he found the place that he belongs to. you cant blame anyone who's pointing out this very obvious, hateful and envious mistreatment. i just want to see him shine and do the thing he absolutely love and live for. leeknow's career will always be there in history, i love a man who is very happily doing the thing he always wanted to do. lee minho you will always be loved, cherished and famous. no matter how his own company tries to exclude him out of almost every content they post, people will always talk about him. he will always find himself trending and loved. dont think that he wants to be treated like that, he wouldn't work hard, practice everyday, go to vocal lessons and still try new dancing styles just to be neglected. he would love to be seen, heard, loved, adored, cherished, treasured, respected, noticed, treated nicely, cared for, appreciated, recognized, praised, cheered for and known. please know that you ARE by so many people all around this big giant world. my favorite precious, amazing, loved, hardworking, sweet boy. the love of my life i love you so much 🤍

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY YOU MIGHT not realize how fortunate we are as Americans to be able to celebrate love on Valentine’s Day. Before 1988, when I was a young woman living in China, it never even occurred to me that such celebrations should even exist. During the Cultural Revolution and many years beyond that, love was a forbidden subject. We were only allowed to show our “love” in public when it was our love for Chairman Mao, the Communist Party, and the motherland. Even expressing love to an immediate family member would be criticized. Couples caught holding hands together in public would be humiliated. My parents would call each other “male comrade” and “female comrade” instead of “husband and wife.” Gender and beauty were canceled. Girls were required to wear unisex clothing and have approved hairstyles. Feminine clothing and behaviors were not tolerated. Wearing makeup was not accepted. Youth were strictly forbidden to date during school years. The girls were encouraged to rat out suitors by turning over love letters they received from boys. The boys would then be lectured by the teachers, notes were sent home to their parents, with their violations recorded in their STUDENT FILE, a secret document kept on each student by the government. I was forced to apologize in school for being too “sentimental” because I kept a photo album. When I had a “puppy love” during my middle school and high school years I told myself to keep it quiet, as even my friends would turn me in. Romantic songs and art were banned. We were only allowed to sing red songs to show affection to Mao and the CCP. The artwork on posters and walls were about collective love and loyalty to our leaders, never to family or friends. Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and Mao were the focus of our directed “love.” For example, the lyrics to one popular song we had to sing in school went like this: “My parents are dear, but Chairman Mao is dearer.” Spouses were urged to report on each other, children were brainwashed to turn on their parents. In my college freshman year, we were warned by the Communist Party Law School Secretary “don’t think about dating or marriage; focus on your studies to build China.” Of course, some of us rebelled against CCP rule, at least in secret. Things started to change publicly when a romantic novel was published. It caused a national firestorm; the novel, “Love shall not be forgotten,” was about romance: a woman and a man who put their own happiness first in a society that values sacrifice. Finally, the dating bans and dancing party bans were lifted. After I came to America, I read a book written by a defector and former personal doctor to Mao. He revealed that Mao engaged often in dancing parties and had as many young women as he wanted during the Cultural Revolution. At the same time, the powerless were being kept down by a party and told they should not live a “capitalist’s lifestyle.” My family and I were eyewitnesses to the true communism that exists in reality. You see, the reality for the perfectible socialist man — is a place where utopian promises never come. It is, instead, a place of hatred, division, envy, oppression, poverty and suffering. It is a place where there is destruction of love, families, individuals, human nature and humanity. Today, in America and outside of China, I am free to wear whatever I want; I can pursue beauty, express my feelings and opinions freely. And yet, ironically, I see too many young people in America idealizing socialism and communism. Just recently I was informed by a young Twitter commentator “You did not survive REAL communism. Real communist society has never existed.” This is a shocking lie and propaganda. The real communism I lived in is the same one that has exterminated nearly 100 million people this last century. I sometimes wonder if the victims of real communism are turning over in their graves because of what many young Americans now believe. Have these real victims of communism been forgotten so easily? Valentine’s Day is a time I will always treasure. I am happy to see people celebrate love. Love is a part of family life and individual freedom, expression, and desire that must not be suppressed or eradicated. So, I want to invite you to celebrate this Valentine’s Day with me, to celebrate one of our most profound, precious, and powerful human emotions — love. Way back in 1996, I was working on Diddy Kong Racing. Probably the most fun I've had in my entire life! One of the most fun parts was creating animation sequences using the custom made software by Rob Harrison who was one of the lead programmers on the team. After I gave him a list of features I needed it to have, Robert created a great editor based on a simplified timeline editor similar to what I had previously used in Alias Poweranimator. Characters, objects and cameras would follow paths that I could draw to create motion, and along those paths I could place 'trigger' events which were usually icons that looked like a musical note or a special effect. So for instance, during the start sequence when Diddy Kong flies around the famous 'N64' logo high up in the clouds, Diddy Followed a path and as he hit triggers along the way, special sound effects were triggered and twinkle star particles were emitted. The sky background was simply a spinning cylinder with a basic blue sky texture on it. However, although it sounds simple, scenes soon became very complicated, and this WIZPIG end sequence after defeating him for the first time was a lot to handle. I made the characters follow paths which ran all over the place triggering sound effects as they ran away from the evil boss! I had so much fun creating sequences, and doing WIZPIG's VOICE! But none of this would have been possible without the great work from Rob to give me a great tool to animate those sequences which really brought the game to life! All of the team worked their asses off in a red hot barn during that summer, but we loved every minute - and it shows in the game! I remember Chris Stamper being really impressed with the speed we were putting this kind of thing together thanks to the way we were communicating with each other as a team. But with this particular sequence he wasn't happy when he saw I was building a lighthouse. I remember him asking why I was wasting memory on graphics because it was in short supply - and everything should be built for a reason. (And quite rightly so) However, little did he know it would become a rocket ship for Wizpig to launch into space with, and ride around the space racetrack, but he soon found out! Lee Schuneman did a great job bringing the team together and getting them to trust in his vision of a racing game with an 'adventure' element. The amazing front end by Johnni Christiensen set it apart from many other games with it's bold use of colour and great cartoony style And that music you hear is by non other than my best pal David Wise! What a game! What a time we had! We all worked so hard - And some of the team now even work with me at Playtonic Games! Penny, McMuffin And Tina - Why I Make Happy Doggo Videos If you are reading this I’m sure you’ve watched at least one of the videos I make which feature dogs. Hopefully it put a big smile on your face and left you feeling like a positive difference was being made in the world. I wanted to explain the massive importance of these videos… Taking Old Dogs To The Beach 🌴🥥 This week we did the “Old Dogs Beach Day Out”. It featured the OAP dogs who have been battling serious health issues lately and has close to a million views across different sites. McMuffin - Cancer survivor and had to have an eye removed this week Derek - Very old abandoned dog who was close to death on arrival Lady - Senior girl with 2 broken hips who was dying on the streets Snoop - My own rescue who has numerous tumours and a fused spine It was about as joyous a day out as you can imagine. You could see the dogs enjoying every single second as they swam, sunbathed and ate treats. But what is the point of this? Wouldn’t I be better spending the couple of hours it took doing something else like taking dogs to the vet or feeding even more out on the streets? Good question… Videos Help Me Do The “Boring” Stuff For The Dogs These are some of the things that I do in a typical month… Funding the sterilising of over 100 dogs ✂️ Feeding 20,000 meals for street dogs 🥘 Pay for between 20-40 vet visits for sick dogs 🐶 Purchasing preventative medicines for street dogs 💊 Paying for travel to re-home 7-10 dogs in Thailand ⛴️ Although these things are super important and change lives for the better they aren’t always super interesting. I’ve tried making videos about sterilising or vet visits but most people are not interested after they’ve seen it once. I understand that because I would be the exact same personally watching content on social media. I’d have very limited interest in opening Twitter and seeing dogs getting medical procedures or being abused. Most people simply unfollow or mute that sort of content. People know there is suffering but “out of sight, out of mind” is the attitude on social media. But Don’t Dog Suffering Videos Get Donations? Yes. You’ll probably notice that most content around the world from all types of animal charities can be quite gruesome or sad. This is the same with human tragedies. People are much more likely to donate if they see suffering. The need is more immediate and urgent. I wanted to try something completely different and not share gruesome content. Instead of showing content like Sterilisations (Tina below) or horrific injuries (McMuffin below is already operated on and healing) I wanted to share happy content. I wanted to create content that was so happy and upbeat that people would actually want to share it with others. To tell their friends about the plight of the street dogs and maybe even get excited about changing it too. Penny Is The Perfect Example Penny is a tiny little dog that came into my possession recently. The simple facts of her story are horrific… Kept locked up in a tiny box under a house Tortured by a human Broken leg so bad it needed large scale surgery I have videos on my phone of her before the rescue that would leave you sick to your stomach. I couldn’t sleep the night I saw them. I don’t want people to see all that though and instead focus on the positives… She is safe and alive She was able to go on a huge journey to a wonderful foundation called Soi Dog who worked on saving her leg. She is so cute that I’ve had over 100 people message me about giving her a forever home It costs a lot of money, time and effort to change Penny’s life. I’d say about 20 people have been involved. I try to keep the content around her positive and uplifting and focus on her turnaround and the people helping to change her life. Subtly I can educate around where she came from and the need to change that but people don’t want to see a video of her getting tortured. Ultimately like many of the dogs she is a story of hope and the innate goodness in the people who helped change her life. The Subtle Benefits Of Feeling Good When I started the videos I remember looking at social media and it was so depressing. Every post was about war in Ukraine, people arguing about politics, the cost of living crisis or Covid (2022). I suffer from depression and anxiety and I found that social media was just making it worse for me. I thought “Maybe there is room in there for something super positive about dogs”. Thats what I am trying to create. It is also worth remembering some huge added bonuses about the videos… They make the dogs feel good They make people watching feel good They make people around the world aware of street dogs They make myself and others feel good in person doing something practical on the ground as our days can be pretty tough at times. I’d imagine Jumbo forgot about his painful legs when we took him to 7-11 this week and Lady couldn’t believe her luck after such a horrific recent past on the streets. There are probably faster ways to save more dogs. Probably more efficient ways to use my time. I think about that all the time. I’m just trying to fix the problem of dog suffering globally and come at it from a whole new angle. Maybe I’m right and maybe I’m wrong but there is no perfect simple solution to this. I want to share the individual dog stories as every life maters. I want to highlight amazing organisations like Soi Dog and individuals like Sybille who need as much coverage as possible. I want people to look at their phones around the world and think “that makes me feel so happy and wholesome and real change is possible”. I want people who are down and suffering themselves to think “maybe there is some hope for me”. McMuffin, Penny and Tina are just a couple of dogs we all know and love but they will also help thousands of future dogs indirectly. They are the little dogs who will help the other voiceless ones.
