We rushed her to the ER, then by ambulance to the children’s hospital. By God’s grace the pediatric ophthalmologist was already there and took her straight into surgery for a ruptured globe. After further procedures at Duke it was clear she would never see out of that eye again. Her natural eye later shrank and caused discomfort, so once we moved to Georgia we chose to have it removed. Today she is a thriving monocular warrior.🙏 This video is the grand finale: after days of practice, Robin put her prosthetic eye in all by herself for the first time. It brought tears to my eyes. She’s already taken it out and put it back in several more times with growing confidence. What a brave little girl. 💕🙏
