@CBSSports Massimino went to the Elite 8 in 1982, 83 and 88, won a Natty in 85. Pretty good run. Lappas’s teams were high seeds once he got Nova back to the tourney but underperformed.

@ARayfor3 @CBSSports I think @JonRothstein needs to chill. Programs change over time. Where it was yesterday isn’t where it is today and won’t be where it is tomorrow. But Villanova has been to the Final Four more times than the large majority of schools. Only 10 schools have more…

@CBSSports As a lifelong Nova fan, I remember watching games where we played Willard teams.. I was almost always impressed with his teams.. It was a hard job that he had and he maxed it out imo.. I would love to see him at Villanova.

@ARayfor3 @CBSSports Jay also got hose on a bad call in the carrier dome, went to an Elite 8 and lost to Florida the eventual champ and got to a Final Four. Jay rose program from ashes, thanks Lapp, has success, fell a bit, went back to Villanova basketball and had those 10 years.

@CBSSports If I would have told Nova fans that Kevin Willard was their top target to be the next head coach in December of this year. They would have wanted a mutiny. Now he is Coach K. Yes I am bitter, but be careful what you wish for.

@CBSSports Villanova has gone to 7 Final Fours in 6 different decades with 4 different coaches. That would be hard for any program to compare to.
