The most beautiful of gifts is the love of a dog. But the cruelest turn is to have to say goodbye. There’s never enough time. Never. 💔

There is no other love on earth quite like this one. “Before you get a dog, you can’t quite imagine what living with one might be like; afterward, you can’t imagine living any other way.” Rest in Peace, Dipper. 🌈

Pet loss is no different than the loss of a close family member - because they are family. I’m not sure if Jon reads comments but the millions of dog people know what he is going through and it sucks. A beautiful thing is that every dog is that good dog. It makes saying goodbye so very very hard, but it’s true. They are all the best, goodest dogs. When you are ready, pour that grief into another. Grief can go somewhere.

A lot of people might not know that on Jon Stewart's first episode after 9/11 – the same one where you likely have watched his opening/monologue before – at the end he brought out a puppy and held it for the moment of zen as music played with the credits.

@tsnjamesduthie We lost Bella on Thursday. She was 9 but unfortunately she wasn't tired. She was active and full of life and bounding around. Right up until 5 minutes before she laid down and stopped taking treats. It was a bleeding mass on her spleen. She was proud and I was proud of her.

I have tears streaming down my face, as I’m sure all of us dog lovers do.

Jon nailed it. "He was ready. But i wasn't." Exactly what it's like when a dog's time has come but you're not ready to let him go.

Thanks, Jon. We did. Titan was also a "Rescue." (One year since he passed. The pain doesn't stop. Sorry)
