Jon Stewart reminds us that we don’t do enough for our heroes. Happy 4th!

Senate Republicans blocked a bill to help veterans exposed to toxic burn pits. The bill passed the Senate with 84 votes, but 25 Republicans changed their votes. Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) led the opposition to the bill. He called the bill a "budgetary gimmick" that would create $400 billion in unrelated spending. He argued that the language could allow funds to be used for programs unrelated to veterans' health care. The bill passed the Senate after an outcry from veterans and comedian Jon Stewart. Stewart camped out on the Capitol steps after Republicans blocked the bill.

Jon Stewart only seems to remember them when he can point blame at Republicans.
