🚨 Phoenix just made history 🚨 Yesterday, in an 8-1 vote, the PHX City Council: ✔️ Approved the largest individual tax increase in the city's history. ✔️ Approved a tax increase for the first time in the city's history WITHOUT voter approval. The city council doesn't have to bring a tax increase to the voters but historically any time taxes were raised the city council chose to bring it to the voters. This time around the city council chose to break the mold and take matters into their own hands. And then they laughed about it. How it was the first time they had a simultaneous seconding of a motion from multiple council members because they were all just so eager to pass it. Disgusting! The only real Republican on the council was the only no vote. When Take Back Phoenix returns the majority to Republicans in 2026 we will repeal this tax increase and we will make sure our budget is properly balanced. The Cardinals are closing in on a deal with INF Ramón Urías (31) per Jeff Jones Urías had a down year in 2025 offensively slashing .241/.292/.384 for a .675 OPS and a 88 OPS+ with 11 homers, though for his career he is a .257/.321/.403 hitter for a .723 OPS and a 104 OPS+. In 2025 Urías was good against left handed pitchers posting a .262/.322/.421 slash line. Urías also bounced back defensively posting 5 OAA and 12 DRS after posting -9 OAA and -3 DRS in 2024. Back foot trigger goes from heel lift to full foot lift 3.) Toe tap instead of leg lift If Baltimore's development staff can help him find a middle ground, this could end up being a solid flier for the Orioles mid-season depth
