Nelson gave a talk encouraging the membership of the church and the general public to address the church by its full and proper name. “Joseph Smith did not name the Church restored through him; neither did Mormon. What does it mean that the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ is “ongoing”? Through the Prophet Joseph Smith, the Savior laid the foundation for the Restoration of His Church on the earth (see Doctrine and Covenants 1:28–39; 21:1–3; 136:37–38). The ongoing nature of the Restoration means that the Lord, in His infinite goodness, will continue to reveal “many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God” (Articles of Faith 1:9).
