History from first hand sources are the best place to start when in search of the truth. "The wars of the Jews" written by Josephus You can find it on Amazon. Written in 73-75 ad I believe by someone who was there. It's a good place to start to find out how we got here.

There are only two times in the Bible where we read that Jesus was amazed. The first was at the great faith of a Roman centurion who asked Him to simply speak the word and his servant would be healed. This was a man who was not raised on Scripture—quite the opposite. Yet somehow he understood authority. He believed that if Jesus just said the word, it would be done. And Jesus was amazed at his simple, confident, powerful faith. The second time Jesus was amazed was at the unbelief of the people in His own hometown of Nazareth when He declared Himself to be the Messiah. The contrast is striking—faith from a pagan soldier, unbelief from those who knew the Scriptures. More on that here…

No, the Cross was the punishment where Jesus paid for our sins to satisfy his Father. God imputes the righteousness and suffering of Jesus to those who are in Him and imputes the sins of those redeemed to Christ. Of course, as you listen to this, it became about Trump.

Your claim that Jesus of Nazareth never existed is historically false. Most atheists who have studied the record accept that a historical Jesus existed. His existence as a real first century figure is not a matter of Christian faith….its mainstream historical consensus. Scholars across the spectrum including leading agnostic atheist New Testament expert Bart D Ehrman (see attached video) affirm that Jesus was a real person who lived, taught and was crucified in Judea under Pontius Pilate. This is based on multiple independent early sources as we have strong non Christian corroboration from both Jewish and Roman writers who had every incentive to ignore or dismiss him but they didnt. Here is four of the earliest non Christian references: 1.) Jewish historian Josephus (37–100AD) In Antiquities of the Jews Josephus describes Jesus as “a wise man” who performed “surprising deeds” was a teacher and “was crucified by Pontius Pilate at the suggestion of the Jewish leaders.” He even mentions “James…the brother of Jesus” and records his execution and refers to Jesus as “the Christ” independently confirming the very claim of the early church. 2.) He called Christianity “a mischievous superstition” that originated in Judea and spread to Rome. Tacitus recorded that Emperor Nero blamed the Christians for the Great Fire of Rome in 64AD using them as scapegoats to divert public anger from himself. 3.) Roman Governor Pliny the Younger (61–113AD) wrote a detailed letter to Emperor Trajan asking how to handle “these Christians.” He states in his letter: “These Christians were accustomed to meet on a fixed day before dawn and sing responsively a hymn to Christ as to a GOD and to BIND themselves by oath….refusing to return a trust when called upon to do so.” Pliny was investigating Christians because the movement was growing so rapidly causing social tension. He did not like Christians and even tortured some to find out what they were doing in their meetings. Jesus gave up His life voluntarily. “No one takes my life from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.” - John 10:18 He had the authority to lay it down and the authority to take it up again. Last Saturday, we held the Jesus Revolution Baptism at Pirate’s Cove. This of course is the Site of the Baptisms of the Jesus Movement. But we never had a baptism like what happened yesterday. We baptized 4500 people! There was a line of folks waiting by the seawall. People Came from all around the Nation and World! This may be the largest baptism in American history, maybe world history. God Knows, but it was AMAZING! We give Him all the Glory! It reminds me of what happened on the day of Pentecost. “Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.” (Acts 2:41)

Jesus Christ opposes everything Christianity stands for. Let’s look deeper into what the early Christians actually believed. Groups like the Gnostics, Marcionites, and Cathars didn’t just think Yahweh was a different God, they believed he was a lesser God, often referred to as the “Demiurge,” who created the material world and trapped souls in physical bodies. They saw Jesus as a messenger from a higher, God of Light who came to liberate humanity from Yahweh’s control. Marcion, was the man who compiled the first Christian Bible, and he even went as far as rejecting the entire Old Testament scriptures, saying it wasn’t the word of Jesus’ God at all. Now, think about how far we've come from those beliefs. The modern church not only embraces Yahweh but builds its entire foundation on the Old Testament. Jesus’ teachings were meant to free us from that, but have been distorted and buried under centuries of religious control. For many of the early Christians it wasn’t about sin. The Gnostics believed that knowledge, not blind faith, was the key to salvation. They saw Jesus as a bringer of that secret knowledge, teaching us to awaken to our own divine spark. If Jesus returned today, what would he think of a system all about control and power over wisdom and liberation? The truth is, this world has always belonged to the devil. That’s the biggest mistake we’ve made, pretending otherwise. We’ve lived in denial for millennia, but Scripture makes it clear: when the devil tempted Jesus in the desert, he offered Him the kingdoms of this world, he could only offer what was his to give. And notice how Jesus did not correct him, He did not say, “These kingdoms are not yours.” because Jesus knew who owned the world. The devil’s greatest trick is not convincing you to follow him, but erasing God so completely that you never notice whose kingdom you are in. Remember, the kingdom of God is within us, not outside of us. We need to get past the cognitive dissonance of not wanting to accept this truth, for only when we see it clearly can we stand a chance of fighting evil. The way out is not through the mundane spectacle of politics, the only way out is spiritually. Doug Wilson, along with Bruce Ware, both hold the mistaken view that Christians should restrict prayer to the Father alone and never pray directly to Jesus. But this position runs into a serious problem, because Jesus Himself said otherwise. In John 14:13–14, Jesus told His disciples: 13 “Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 “If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. Notice that Jesus did not say, "Ask only the Father and I will only relay it." He said ask ME, and I WILL do it. Jesus both receives and answers prayer. That is not the role of a mere created being or a subordinate intermediary. That is the role of God. And did the early Christians pray to Jesus? Absolutely! Stephen, while being martyred, called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit” (Acts ), directly addressing Christ in his final moments. The apostle Paul prayed to Jesus pleading with Him about his “thorn in the flesh” (2 Corinthians 12:8–9) Paul pleaded with Jesus three times regarding his thorn in the flesh, and Jesus answered him personally (2 Corinthians 12:8–9) John and the early church lifted up the petition, “Come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation ), a prayer addressed directly to Christ. Those who say that you are not allowed to pray to Jesus are in the same camp as the Jehovah's Witnesses who also forbid prayers to Jesus. Doug Wilson and Bruce Ware are wrong. Jesus is fully God and as God He receives and answer prayers. Years ago I sat through a lecture by Bruce Ware in which he argued that the worship given to Jesus is in some way limited or restricted. It was deeply troubling to hear. I was sitting with an entire row of former Jehovah's Witnesses, and every one of them was equally disturbed. They recognized the argument. They had heard it before, just dressed in different theological clothing. The idea that Jesus, in His eternal state, is somehow deserving of a lesser degree of worship, or that we cannot address Him directly in prayer, is not a humble, cautious position. It is a deviation from both the testimony of the early Christians and the plain teaching of Scripture. The first believers called upon the name of Jesus, prayed to Him, worshipped Him without restraint, and were willing to die rather than deny His full deity. They did not worship a subordinate Christ. When a theological position on the person of Christ makes former Jehovah's Witnesses uncomfortable because it sounds too familiar, that is worth pausing over. It should cause us to ask hard questions about where that road leads and whose company we are keeping doctrinally. Jesus Christ is not a lesser object of worship. He is not off-limits in prayer. He is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father, and He is worthy of every prayer, every act of worship, and every confession of faith we can offer.

I am troubled by Trump. But I’m even more troubled by the Christians who support him. This is white supremacy… full stop. Trump is an opportunist… exploiting the fears and insecurities of white people. He stokes the deepest fears of scarcity, of being replaced, of losing power. And he unleashes Americas worst principalities and powers. This is racism on full display. But the Gospel of Jesus is about love and compassion. It’s about the promise that perfect love casteth out fear. The Gospel is about advocating for widows and orphans and having compassion for those Christ called “the least of these.” In fact, Jesus even says that when we welcome the stranger - the immigrant, the refugee, the homeless — we are welcoming HIM. Follow Jesus. Not Trump.
