Josh Brolin recalls how badly his mother used to treat his father and says he can still hear her going off on him like it was yesterday. “Everybody feared my mother for obvious reasons. I wish she was here. You’d be scared of her, you know what I mean? She was super funny, super fun, but if you think I’m a front, forget it. My mom was. She’d say anything, do anything. Didn’t matter to her. So, with zero filter, she was.” Host: “Was there like domestic violence?” Josh Brolin: “Towards her?” Host: “No, no.” Josh Brolin: “Okay, toward him.” Host: “Yeah, yeah.” Josh Brolin: “Verbally. Yeah, verbally. I remember my mom, my dad watering the plants. Poor guy, man, watering the plants. She was just going off. He wouldn’t wake up until 11:00 for obvious reasons. Just not wanting to deal. My mom would just be going off, ‘What, what lazy man…’ Just on and on and on. You’re just like, ‘Fucking hell, man.’” Host: “And you still remember that?” Josh Brolin: “Oh, dude. I hear it like it was yesterday.” Host: “And you were how old then?” Josh Brolin: “All ages. There wasn’t an age where it wasn’t that.”

House of the Dragon star Olivia Cooke reveals why she was shocked by her on-screen sons’ casting Josh Horowitz: Did you know going in, the age discrepancy that there would be between you and your sons on the show? Olivia Cooke: No. When I found out that Tom Glynn-Carney was auditioning for my son, I was like, “What?” I was like, “Are they going to recast Alicent again and do another age jump? Like, how’s this going to work?” Josh Horowitz: Where are you at with it now? They’re wonderful actors. Olivia Cooke: God, I love them with all my heart. I think spiritually me and Tom are related. It’s odd, isn’t it? I feel many things about it. I feel like, “God, is this just Hollywood? They don’t want to see women age, you know?” I think it’s a big leap for the audience to make… or maybe I’m just a fantastic actor! Josh Horowitz: Let’s go with that. Olivia Cooke: Let me go with that.

Gary Oldman flew between Los Angeles and London 27 times while filming Batman to be with his kids Gary Oldman: So for the first Batman, I was living here in Los Angeles. I was a single dad, and I didn’t really want to leave the kids for too long. But the first Batman was shooting in England, in London, which was doubling as Gotham. I said to Chris, “Would it be okay? I’ll fly in, I’ll shoot, and then fly back. If there’s anything wrong with the dailies… you know where I am. I’ll be in the car on my way to the airport.” “If everything’s cool, you know where I’ll be. I’ll get in the car, I’ll go to the airport, I’ll fly home, and then I’ll see you Thursday.” I think I ended up doing 27 round trips on the first Batman. Josh Horowitz: Got platinum status. Gary Oldman: And so I’d go home for two days, see the kids, fly back, work three days, go home, be home for three days. I’d fly to London and do one shot, and then get on the plane the next morning and come back. Josh Horowitz: So, real jet lag helped the world-weariness, basically. Gary Oldman: This was… I’m being somewhat silly, but, you know, there’s a sort of a world-weariness to him. And so I embraced the feeling that you have when you’re going back and forth, you’ve been on a long flight. I just thought, “I can actually use this to my advantage.” Josh Horowitz: It worked out, yeah.

Samantha Morton says a director thought she was Emily Watson Josh Horowitz: Who’s the last actor you were mistaken for? Samantha Morton: Oh, it’s not mistaken. I went to New Zealand to do a movie, and the director said, “We’re so excited to have you, Emily. I’ve loved you since you were in Breaking the Waves.” Josh Horowitz: Vincent Ward? Samantha Morton: Vincent Ward. Samantha Morton: I was like, “Are you joking?” I said to the producer, “Does he know that I’m Samantha Morton?” He said, “Don’t tell him. He thinks you’re Emily Watson.” Josh Horowitz: Did you go through the whole job and ever correct him? Samantha Morton: No, it was sad. It was a sad job, but I was like, “What the?” So, I always get mistaken for the amazing, the one and only, extraordinary Emily Watson, or Stella McCartney. Josh Horowitz: You’re leaning in. Samantha Morton: But it was Emily Watson, yeah.

Sarah Longwell: Democrats hate Josh Shapiro. How many people here would be mad if Josh Shapiro ran for president? *silence in audience* I think some people aren't admitting it. Astead: Hate feels a little strong. I don't know if Democrats hate Josh Shapiro. The left doesn't like Josh Shapiro. I don't think that's the whole party. You know, that's a good point. I'll just say as a slight Josh Shapiro stan, perhaps I feel more than most people's antipathy to the idea of him running
