Josh was nice enough to support me up Daddy Issues in a day. I did it a few weeks ago with Chris Weidner as my first climb in the Valley for the season; it was nice to come back to it feeling more tuned up and to climb it...

Josh and I got to climb the Matterhorn! Quite the travel experience going to Zermatt for the day - it was raining so we never actually saw the top of the mountain. And we were in the clouds and wind for the top on our climbing day - it was actually somewhat character building. After climbing the Eiger in shorts and a sun hoodie I didn’t quite take the Matterhorn seriously enough - it would have been nice to have gloves for all the ice encrusted ropes at the top… but we tread carefully and still had a pretty good time. Just a little chilly! And less scenic than we hoped for. But very memorable.

In Morocco, our hotel sent someone to escort us through airport immigration and help with bags. A nice touch I've always loved these Bentley Bentaygas. I imagined that one day I'd get one, so it was shocking that THIS was the hotel car they sent (~$300k car) The interior was beautiful. But after sitting in it for a few minutes...I realized it's just a car. Very nice and I'm glad I had the chance to ride in one, but I'm fine never owning one of these in my life

I had to leave CVPR a little early, but I had a wonderful time talking to lots of interesting folks. In particular, I had the chance to test out and talk to Michael Black, Hanz Cuevas V., and Anastasios Yiannakidis about the project. I made a few nice idiomatic Rerun upgrades to it, such as converting images to h264 videos, adding keypoint + segmentation masks, and replacing the sam2 backbone with efficienttam. The method is really, really good compared to everything else I've tried, and I plan on working with it a lot more. With a little engineering effort, I think it could come close to running in real time.

Sen. Chuck Grassley vacuum saga is back in the spotlight, and the American people are hoping it cleans up nice. After the Iowa Senator's longtime Hoover, affectionately known as 'Beth,' sparked at the plug and was officially retired, a friend delivered him a 17-year-old replacement. "After I get chance to use it I will report on how Beth 2.0 compares to Beth 1.0."

for everyone talking shit about Tempelhofer Feld it’s not just some random field 😭 there’s a separate area for events. this was at a festival there a few weeks ago and it was actually really nice! and it’s not in the middle of nowhere, you’re in central Berlin in 15 minutes

I started learning to skateboard in May. I’m old and it’s really hard but I love it so much. Today I dropped in for the first time, and the feeling was absolutely unreal. It’s never too late.

What's that thing in the tree? It's carrying a cat right in front of my eyes! I had to climb up to help, it was extremely risky! So scary!

It’s nice when there’s a gap in the weather and I get to drag the truck out into the sunshine. Sometimes a quick run down to the tractor supply is enough to keep me happy until the next nice day.

Michael had never claimed to have invented the moonwalk. “I was sitting in the back of a limousine staring out the window and I saw these kids standing around taking turns dancing and that’s where I saw it. One of them was doing the moonwalk. I had to get out and see it up close so I told the driver to stop and back up. I got out and crossed the street their corner of the sidewalk and asked him to show me how it was done and he did. I can’t ever take credit for it. It was that group of kids that taught me.”

4 weeks in to running New Zealand. When I first started my body was nowhere near what I was used to it being able to do. Think I needed the first 1000km to warm up🤣 Feeling stronger day by day now though. Gonna give 100km a whack tomorrow to see what’s up. Time to step it up🫡

This week I got to interview Hamish McArthur for Climbing Gold. One of the interesting nuggets was that he said one of his gifts as a climber (besides being the first person to climb V17 in a session…) was his ability to quickly assess and learn from his movement. It inspired me to start videoing attempts on the board, and lo and behold I sent a few things with subtle tweaks to body position, etc. I guess I may have to join modernity and start using video as a tool more…

Anne Hathaway revealed she trained with a professional mime for two weeks to prepare for Ella Enchanted (2004). "I worked with a mime for about two weeks. I had to learn how to control my body and make it look like someone else was controlling me." "It was hysterical. He was trying to get me to do the classic pratfalls, and I was like, 'I'm not interested in being a mime. I don't see my future in miming.'" "So we stuck to the script."

Catwoman uses a grapple gun to zip up to buildings and she has a built in wingsuit. #LegoBatmanGame We already knew this, I just wanted to see it in action in a free roam setting. I’ve started to make my peace with it somewhat. I’ve already made my peace with the wing suit, but the grapple will take and getting used to only because I think she should be able to utilize her whip as the grapple and please do not give me that thing about “it’s not long enough” she was able to utilize it in the Arkham games (please see my attached screenshot reference of me literally playing Arkham city right now and the whip length) and it didn’t even properly wrap around things and the length was inconsistent when she used it to get to the top of buildings I’m not saying that she needs to be able to scale the buildings like she doesn’t ask them because I understand the movement will not work like that in this game giving the open world, but it will be very nice if her grapple to zip up to buildings was replaced with her whip. It’s a Lego game who cares about the inconsistent lengths of the whip? Regardless, I am super super excited and I cannot wait to get this game in my hands on the 19th
