Josh Downs is so nasty in the slot. Defenders know the ball is coming and still can’t stay with him. That’s not just open. That’s “I decided I was open before the snap” route running. Downs did it without Alec Pierce too, so Kansas City knew where the ball was going and still could not stop it. Seven catches on 72 yards led all Colts receivers that night. He graded 77.1 at PFF last season, 25th among 81 qualified wideouts. Now Indy is planning an expanded role for him in 2026, and a 1,000-yard season with six scores puts him in line for a serious payday.
