During the filming of "Gilda" (1946), Charles Vidor, the director, started to berate the extras in the film. Glenn Ford came to know of this, walked off the set immediately & said that he wouldn't return until Vidor apologised to them. Couple of hours later, Vidor apologised to the extras and it was recorded by the soundman. Only after hearing the apology, Ford agreed to work again.
