Once a jihadi, now a statesman, he’s done everything possible to solve the PKK problem peacefully- even blocking Turkish operations against them. But history matters. The PYD was born in 2003 as the PKK’s Syrian branch, openly backed by Assad to manipulate Kurdish grievances. Damascus armed them, trained them, and let them operate freely. Only a third of the PKK fighters back then were Syrian. By 2012, PKK fronts like TEV-DEM controlled Syrian Kurdistan. The U.S. then rebranded them as the “SDF” to hide their terrorist ties. Five months after the March deal, Damascus is losing patience. The SDF must integrate into the Syrian state- no more victim games, no more double-dealing. Damascus has already offered more than enough. Push your luck, and the next “negotiation” will be fought on the battlefield.

They desecrate the Syrian flag, hoist their own PKK rags, and turn the place into chaos and disorder. The PKK project in Syria is dead. Assad is gone. Deal with it!

Israel accepted and has complied with the U.S. plan. A real path forward is possible. But Hamas repeatedly violates the ceasefire, holding Gaza and the region hostage to its jihadist agenda. They also still hold the abducted bodies of Dror Or, Ran Gvili & Sudthisak Rinthalak, denying them the dignity of a burial. Hamas must comply with the agreement. Hamas must lay down its arms and go. Gaza must demilitarize so a real future can be crafted.

If the PKK is so beloved, why did they come to Europe? The PKK has controlled Syrian Kurdish areas since 2011, and there has been no large-scale fighting there since 2015. For over a decade, supporters had the option to live under the movement they now glorify. So to every Syrian Kurd who joined these protests in Europe: what exactly did you flee? Not Assad. Not the PKK.
