The F-4 Phantom II is a tandem two-seat, twin-engine supersonic jet interceptor and fighter-bomber developed by McDonnell Aircraft for the U.S. Navy, first entering service in 1961. It was widely used during the Vietnam War and is known for its adaptability and performance, with over 5,195 units built. Photo by me

where space meets sound

probably the only Air Force to appreciate them as much as we do.

第302飛行隊 尾白鷲(オジロワシ)が部隊マークです。 今はF-35に引き継がれてます。

Brings back memories of when my dad lived just to the side of Kelly AFB landing slope. Phantoms, Hercs, Galaxies. A flight-nut’s dream.

The show of precision, synchronization, and discipline of the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels is cool, but this shows operational readiness and efficiency.

Always nice to see the Japanese Phantoms in such good shape. They look like they came fresh out of the factory.

@aniemyer It’s a shame that Iran wouldn’t put videos out like this featuring their Tomcats 🫤

For everyone STILL thinking these jets 'run on fuel', not on ions and compressed air, please tell me where the flames are from the turbines. I'll wait. ☝️🤡🤡🤡☝️

Australia had F4s whilst awaiting delivery of the F111. Use to watch them back in the early to mid 70s at Richmond Air Force base. They were an awesome aircraft and very loud on afterburner takeoff - power !!
