I tell people that one group is like the king kongs, the kings of the jungle while another group is like chimpanzees, basically baby monkeys. Which show do you think this story belongs to? 🌞: Alright, I’ll tell you. This story is about the "Bump Boom Boom" gang show. In the industry, they call it "M3" for short. When they work, they refer to this song as M3. The first time this group gathered to rehearse, Sea was the only one missing because he was off practicing his "star-climbing" or "hanging-from-a-star" routine at the time. So back then, it was just Force, Book, Ju, Mark, and Jimmy. On the very first day of learning the choreography, they blasted the music so loud that the bass from Bump Boom Boom made your heart stop like, how can anyone survive this sound? 🌞: We were learning the choreography, and on day one, Jimmy was really quick on his feet. Dana Gioia is one of the world’s greatest living poets. He’s been writing for ~55 years, and this 3-hour interview is all about his approach to writing. Some lessons: 1. What is poetry? You don’t need to be 100% original. All you need to do is assemble parts of the reality that already exists. As George Balanchine said, “God creates, I assemble.” 14. A foundational book in his life: The City of God by St. Augustine. He says there are two cities that exist: There’s the City of Man, which is ruled by wealth and power and all the laws of man. And there’s the City of God which is eternal and governed by the rules of God. 15. Gas station chaos as police come out to arrest one man but a second crime happens right in front of the officers. ​If you’ve ever wondered how quickly a situation can completely spiral out of control, this bodycam footage from the Cranston Police Department is the ultimate example. What started as a response to a standard domestic dispute turned into a chaotic chain reaction involving a random assault, a near-riot, and three separate arrests. ​Here is the wild backstory of exactly what went down at this Garrett's Family Market gas station: ​The entire incident kicked off when a young woman ran into the gas station convenience store, visibly shaken and crying. Store employees reported that she was desperately trying to escape her boyfriend, who had chased her inside. As employees rushed her into a secure backroom for her protection, the boyfriend tried to force his way past the workers, aggressively shouting, "You don't know who I am." ​When police arrived, they located the boyfriend outside. The moment officers attempted a routine pat-down for weapons, the suspect became highly uncooperative, tensing up, resisting, and threatening the officers by telling them, "I'll body the [expletive] out of both of you." He was ​While multiple officers were scattered around the parking lot processing the domestic scene and interviewing witnesses, a completely separate and unrelated incident exploded inside the store. ​A homeless man, later identified by police as Michael, walked into the market and suddenly punched a young man square in the face while he was standing at the counter.
