Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) is nothing like the book it came from. And that’s a good thing. Even the author preferred the film so much that he wrote his sequel as a follow-up to the movie and dismissed the original novel as Jessica Rabbit’s bad dream.

I ended up revisiting bits of Who Framed Roger Rabbit just for fun and I'm always amazed by how good the filmmaking is. The scene with Eddie Valliant in his office is some amazing storytelling with Zemeckis and Dean Cundey allowing the camera to tell all alongside the score.

Bob Hoskins' younger son didn't talk to him for two weeks after watching "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (1988). Only later did Hoskins realise that it was because that his son might have been angry that his father, who had cartoon friends like Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam, Daffy Duck, etc. wouldn't bring them home to meet him. Bob Hoskins talking about it: "After I did ‘Roger Rabbit,’ my younger son wouldn’t talk to me. It took me about two weeks to figure out that he reckoned that any father who had friends like Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam, Daffy Duck, and who didn’t bring them home to meet him, well, his father was a total (jerk). The basic premise of all this business is that everybody’s totally insane. They are. They are completely insane. And that’s wonderful." (Bob Hoskins's interview with Richard Stayton, LA Times, 1992)

As the Patrick Kane signing as sunk in more as the day has gone on, I keep thinking of him watching the tribute video his first game back in Chicago with Detroit. He was going through it and it was written all over his face. Typically you get the smile and wave, maybe wipe a tear, but he was torn up. He snapped out of it after the first lap when he finally just took it all in. Truly believe if it was always up to him, he would've never left. Rebuild and all. Patrick Kane is Chicago, man. Welcome home.

In light of recent events I figured I'd get Carson Hocevar's thoughts on his good friend LeBron James signing with the Sixers. "He told me that he was gonna go to the Pistons because I asked him to, so a little disappointed there." Carson claims that he and LeBron discussed him coming to North Carolina "because he wanted to just come and hang out at my new property and race some cars and stuff." He's a little disappointed in his negotiating skills in not getting that deal over the finish line. "I thought I had him signed ... Not every agent wins, man."

BREAKING: Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office releases bodycam footage of one of its officers shooting and killing U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Roger Fortson. Police had responded to a "disturbance" call and knocked on the wrong door. According to Fortson's girlfriend who was on a FaceTime call with him, Fortson had no clue what was going on when he heard a knock at the door. Out of caution, he retrieved his gun when he didn't hear the officer say anything. When he opened the door, his gun appeared to be facing the ground however the officer shot him anyways. "Step back!" the officer shouted as he began firing. Fortson was shot 6 times and was rushed to the hospital where he died. Rest in peace, Roger.

I reminded viewers that he attacked me in the press and learned the hard way that picking a fight with me never ends well.
