People are circulating this video when he first got to the ball. It's waist high grass. You can't take a normal step. You have to lift your leg like this just to get around. Judge Greer rules that @brysondech is innocent. The @RandA decision shall be vacated.

I changed my mind. I think it’s fair penalty. He should have known better, this did remove grass from his swing path.

I woulda picked that sucker up and thrown it back in the fareway.

Beloved… I love Bryson. Nothing can make me not be a fan of his… but the violation occurred on his way past his ball to stand behind it. He intentionally stomped grass down in the area of his takeaway.

It's too minimal. They should allow you to do whatever you want to surrounding area as long as the ball is not displaced. Would end this dumb debate

Brandel Chamblee needs to stop hating on LIV golfers. We all know he hates Bryson.

Total BS Penalty ….. Humans cannot levitate!

Many people are pointing out that Wyndham Clark did far worse in the recent U.S. Open. Here's Dustin Johnson also.

It’s not his responsibility to make sure the grass doesn’t lay down as he walks through it nor does he have to take an alternate route to get a line on his ball. This was a targeted penalty against a LIV guy because they still holding grudges!! 🙄

you do realize this is not the step he got penalized for right? it's the steps he took behind the ball when he first got to the ball when he didn't have a club in his hand

I’m a huge DeChambeau fan, but you didn’t show the beginning. Right when he got to his ball, he stomped down all the grass around his ball. You did not show that in this clip that’s why you’re misleading people with what you’re saying.

okay the very beginning of your video is wrong and means i dont have to watch the rest of it to say why. he needs to get to his ball somehow? you know he could loop around 6 foot behind instead of 3 feet, and then approached his ball from the side instead of behind? that way the grass that should have been in his swing path would be unaffected and not risk a penalty.

This is NOT the critical part of the video!!

The lie and back swing did not improve.. just a bunch of grass moving and back to the same position.. BS

You arent showing what preceded this. He stomped around.

He is guilty as sin. No one steps on tall grass behind your ball which minimizes its interference with your swing path. Clearly cheating.

Watch the 30 seconds BEFORE this!!!!

Yeah you can see that penalty from the moon - no debate.

He definitely improved his lie. That was the correct call.

Golf channels version of the view is pissy🫢 question is which one is whoppi and which is sunny?

Does every player have the scrutiny of tv cameras watching their every move ? No they do not . It’s not a level officiating playing field . And it wasn’t definitive. What hole was it ? I hope it was the 18th. And I hope some tv viewer didn’t call it in .That would be total BS.

Bad beat avoided, case dismissed.

i disagree. He walked in the line of his back swing. And in the process, flattened the grass.

Those tall grass he stepped on allowed his backswing to miss them as they were inadvertently flattened sideways just enough. Unfortunate but fair ruling.

I played competitive golf for 15+ years. The way he walked around the ball that careless is not a good look. Anytime you are in situation like that, you look around to make sure you do NOT bend any gras near the ball or your swing. You don’t even practice swing near the ball.

The thing about this penalty is that if he was searching for the ball no penalty...but because he identified it, his further steps around his lie incurred the penalty.

I have no dog in this fight, but the grass did not bounce back as stated.

His step is no where near his intended line of swing. We get it. You hate Bryson and love Rory.

It looks to me like he stepped in the grass in an attempt to flatten it. He should have known that there were safer routes to approach the ball. This was intentional and very Patrick Reed esque

I don’t know if he “tried” but he did step on the grasses which gave him an edge to swing

His club head was hitting that grass behind him on his practice swings then no contact after the stomp. Do you need glasses??

Who is this guy? Easily a penalty. Dummy

Just admit it was intentional Bryson, and let's all move on. So tired of your drama, fake withdrawal threats and then hitting the driving range until midnight. He'll be looking for a neighbor's backyard to practice his chipping soon.
