Operation Entebbe was a daring Israeli rescue mission on July 3-4, 1976, at Uganda's Entebbe Airport. After terrorists hijacked an Air France plane with 248 passengers, holding 103 mostly Jewish hostages, IDF commandos flew 4,000 km, stormed the terminal, killed 7 hijackers and 45 Ugandan soldiers, and freed 102 hostages. Lt. Col. Yonatan Netanyahu, the sole Israeli commando casualty, led the assault. A bold anti-terror triumph. 🇮🇱
