In an open act of displeasure; the Seattle City Council is now insisting Mayor Katie Wilson block off N. Seattle neighborhoods from Aurora Avenue "this week". They are even going as far as threatening legislation to allow Seattle Police to install barriers themselves...without the Mayor's approval. The City Council is now also working with King County Prosecutor to further crack down on the sex trafficking causing most of the problems. All of this comes after hundreds of residents marched on Aurora Saturday night, demanding change from a mayor that couldn't be bothered to show up for her city. Of those 48, 19 are devout progressives. Rather than scapegoating fellow Democrats, perhaps the mayor should rethink his fringe proposals.

KOMO reporter Jackie Kent was attempting to interview the Mayor about the lack of transparency in her administration, and about the now multiple incidents of Mayor Wilson acting downright hostile towards journalists. The Mayor's staff told Kent that her questions would be answered after the event they were at, but that appears to have been a cover to avoid them altogether. The only solution to this is by local media holding Mayor Wilson's feet to the flames, until she comes to terms that she's a public servant...and not a "Queen".
