They were making MUCH more than 750 HP.

They were actually close to 950 hp at the crank in those days. Good times.

@Kenny_Wallace In 85, just think about how fast Bill Elliott had to be going to win after getting 2 laps down at talladega under green flag conditions.

NASCAR doesn't want cars exceeding 200 mph by much because the catch fence may not keep a car out of the stands. I don't know if they self insure or buy insurance, but either way they have to limit the speed.

Sprint cars make 900+ 🤷♂️
