Heaven Birthday, Reggie Roby 🕯️ A two-time First-Team All-Pro power punter who played 16 NFL seasons — most of which with the #Dolphins Reggie had a then-unique two-step, no-jump punting style...and a penchant for often wearing a wristwatch during games. Here's his 77-yard BOMB against Buffalo in 1987 — the longest punt in #PhinsUp history, followed by a beautiful fake punt for the Tennessee Oilers in 1997. Second-Team 1980s All-Decade

Some may call it an upset, but Chadron St simply calls it another day at the office, beating the #9/#11 Western CO Mountaineers on Saturday (11/8/25) in OT by a score of 27-24. Chadron got it done in all three phases of the game. The Eagles’ offense presented a balanced attack, gaining 111 yards and 2 TDs passing to go along with 148 yards and 1 TD rushing. The Eagles’ defense held the Mountaineers to a mere 38 yards rushing, had 7 tackles for loss, including 3 sacks, and came up with a fumble recovery and 2 interceptions. The most impressive part of Chadron’s team on Saturday had to be its special teams. The Eagles’ special teams blocked two field goal attempts and blocked a punt. Punter Brodie Eisenbraun stuck one punt inside the 5, drew a running into the punter penalty for a 1st down, and had an amazing run off of a high snap, which while it was not a 1st down, it shows what a stud he is. Then there is Kicker Wilson Yee. Yee made an impressive 50 yard FG in the 2nd quarter. Then, in OT, with ice in his veins, Yee made the biggest kick of his collegiate career, drilling a 47 yard FG to give the Eagles the win. Also leading Chadron to the win were: 🏈 DJ Ralph, 10 Cmps on 22 Atts for 111 Yds & 2 TDs; 🏈 Tommy Thomas, 4 Recs for 66 Yds & 2 TDs; 🏈 Logan O’Brien, 10 Tackles (7 Solo & 3 Ast); 🏈 Cooper Walton, 10 Tackles (5 Solo & 5 Ast) with 1 TFL, including 1/2 a Sack; 🏈 Dax Yeradi, 4 Solo Tackles; 🏈 Aiden Kuester, 4 Tackles (1 Solo & 3 Ast) with 1/2 a TFL & 2 INTs, 🏈 William Stemler, 4 Tackles (3 Solo & 1 Ast) with 2 TFLs, including 1 Sack; & 🏈 Ryder True, 3 Tackles (1 Solo & 2 Ast) with 1.5 Sacks. Chadron will be playing for the RMAC Championship next Saturday when they travel to battle the CSU Pueblo Thunderwolves. Here are a few of Chadron’s highlights from Saturday’s OT win: #RMAC #RMACfb #CSCfb #ProtectTheRock #SoarEagles

⬛ Austin Ekeler: From D2 to the League He ran for 5,857 yards at Western Colorado Football. Signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent. Led the NFL in touchdowns twice. Now with the Washington Commanders and still producing strong. He’s one of the best to ever come out of Division II. ⬇️ Western State, now Western Colorado, was the only program that offered him a shot at running back. He stayed four full years and became one of the most productive players the RMAC has ever seen. He averaged 146 rushing yards and 1.6 touchdowns per game over 40 starts. He put together one of the strongest careers in D2 history...and he didn’t have to leave to do it. At Western, Ekeler dominated. He averaged more than 100 rushing yards per game across four seasons, led the country in all-purpose yards in 2015, and earned academic honors alongside his on-field production. By the time he wrapped up his senior year, he was a Harlon Hill finalist with nearly 6,000 rushing yards to his name. His work was undeniable. But he still didn’t get a Combine invite. The draft came and went. No calls. Then the Los Angeles Chargers brought him into camp on a rookie deal and gave him a shot. He took it from there. He made the roster as a rookie and started producing immediately. First as a change-of-pace option. Then as a third-down threat. Then as the guy. In 2021 and 2022, he led the NFL in total touchdowns. He stacked back-to-back seasons with more than 1,500 scrimmage yards and at least 15 total scores. He caught 107 passes in 2022, the most by any running back in Los Angeles Chargers history. The production hasn’t slowed down. In 2024, he signed with the Washington Commanders. He’s still outworking people. Division II didn’t slow him down. It prepared him. The hours. The discipline. The ability to carry the weight of a program while juggling everything else college throws at you. That’s what this level teaches. That’s why it sticks. There are players right now doing the same thing. Grinding through the spring, stacking film, putting together complete seasons. Some will make it. Not because someone finally believed in them, but because they never stopped believing in themselves. That’s what turns a D2 shot into an NFL career. ⬛ College Career 🔹 5,857 rushing yards, 63 total touchdowns 🔹 4× First-Team All-RMAC Sports 🔹 2013 RMAC Offensive Freshman of the Year 🔹 Led D2 in all-purpose yards per game (203.9) in 2015 🔹 2016 Harlon Hill Trophy Finalist 🔹 First-Team Academic All-America (CoSIDA) 🔹 RMAC Academic Player of the Year (2014) 🔹 2018 Western Colorado Alumni Award of Excellence ⬛ NFL Career 🔹 Signed by Los Angeles Chargers in 2017 (UDFA) 🔹 NFL leader in total touchdowns: 20 (2021), 18 (2022) 🔹 Only player with 10+ rush and 5+ receiving TDs in back-to-back seasons since Marshall Faulk 🔹 One of two UDFAs with 1,500+ scrimmage yards and 15+ TDs in two straight years (with Priest Holmes) 🔹 107 catches in 2022, most by a running back in Los Angeles Chargers history 🔹 PFF Second-Team All-Pro (2019) 🔹 NFL Top 100: Ranked #21 in 2023 🔹 AFC Offensive Player of the Week (Week 17, 2022) 🔹 Over 7,000 scrimmage yards and 70+ career touchdowns 🔹 Signed with the Washington Commanders in 2024 ⬛ Off the Field 🔹 Owns more than 115 rental properties in Colorado and Missouri 🔹 Built the Eksperience app to connect athletes and fans 🔹 Co-founded Gridiron Gaming Group 🔹 75+ endorsement deals (Adidas, Chipotle, Frito-Lay, more) 🔹 Founded the Austin Ekeler Foundation in 2021 🔹 Former host of “Ekeler’s Edge” with Yahoo Sports Ekeler’s story isn’t rare because he came from Division II. For those that had the privilege to see the greatness of linebacker Derrick Thomas in person, they will remember the significance of what happened 37 years ago when the Alabama Football legend ensured the Crimson Tide would not lose in an 8-3 victory over Penn State on Oct. 22, 1988, inside Legion Field. Thomas terrorized Penn State’s Tony Sacca all afternoon and finished with three sacks, nine quarterback hurries, eight tackles and almost outscored the Nittany Lions by himself with a fourth-quarter safety. Led by the heroic performance, the Crimson Tide defense allowed just 21 yards in the second half. In the 1988 season, Thomas won the Butkas Award as the nation’s top linebacker and finished with a staggering 27 sacks. To put that in perspective, Alabama as a team had 25 sacks last season with one extra game. “We made some changes at halftime to free Derrick Thomas,” Alabama head coach Bill Curry said. “Once Derrick Thomas is flying around, all kinds of things happen. They start looking for him. It’s a real nightmare when there’s a player like that on the other team.” CBS televised the defensive slugfest and announcer Brent Musburger described Thomas’s afternoon as, “the most dominating performance I’ve ever seen by a college player.” Philip Doyle scored the only offensive points for Alabama with a 39-yard field goal in the second quarter, before giving the Crimson Tide a 6-3 lead with a 35-yard field goal in the third quarter. Thomas added his safety early in the fourth quarter and a late quarterback hurry ended Penn State’s final offensive series when Lee Ozmint intercepted Sacca. Penn State finished with just 169 yards of total offense (98 passing, 71 rushing) and eight first downs.

SD Mines accepted an invite to play Division 1 Drake on Thursday night (8/27/26) to kick off the season, and not only did they leave Des Moines with a nice payday, but also left with a 38-35 victory. Despite falling behind 10-0 in the 1st Quarter, the Hardrockers responded with a heavy dose of Dawson Dunbar, who scored the next two touchdowns on a 58 yard screen pass and a 49 yard run down the Bulldogs’ throats to take a 17-13 lead into halftime. In the 3rd Quarter, Gage Baker found former high school teammate Joshua Morales and tight end Blake Borchers for touchdown passes of 44 yards and 36 yards respectively. When momentum turned in Drake’s favor in the 4th quarter, the Hardrockers displayed the grit and perseverance we have all come to expect from a Coach Flohr team. With 7:45 remaining in the game, the Hardrockers went on a 15 play 79 yard drive that ate up 5:55 off the clock and ended with Dawson Dunbar refusing to go down until he ran it in from 3 yards out for the go ahead touchdown. While Drake had the ball with 1:50 remaining, SD Mines put the nail in the coffin with a huge interception by Senior Linebacker Charlie Johnson. Leading SD Mines to the win were: 🏈 Gage Baker, 19 Cmps on 31 Atts for 306 Yds & 3 TDs; 🏈 Dawson Dunbar, 17 Carries for 120 Yds and 2 rushing TDs & 3 Recs for 94 Yds and 1 receiving TD; 🏈 Ty Harris, 23 Carries for 108 Yds; 🏈 Joshua Morales, 4 Recs for 84 Yds & 1 TD; 🏈 Charlie Johnson, 12 Tackles (5 Solo & 7 Ast) with 1 TFL & 1 INT; & 🏈 Jarin Allen, 8 Tackles (7 Solo & 1 Ast). SD Mines will welcome Southwest Baptist to Rapid City next weekend as they attempt to built off the momentum from Thursday’s win. Here are a few Hardrockers’ highlights from Thursday’s victory: #RMAC #RMACfb #SDMinesFB #RiseOfTheRockers

Just 10 years ago today Alabama Football finished one of the craziest championship runs in college football history. The next step of the Nick Saban dynasty was the toughest. No blowout. No margin for error. Just resilience, power and nerve as Alabama outlasted Clemson, 45–40, in a College Football Playoff title game that became a classic on Jan. 11, 2016. Derrick Henry, O.J. Howard, and Kenyan Drake delivered the explosive plays. Long touchdowns, relentless pressure and timely answers against a Clemson team led by Deshaun Watson, who matched Alabama blow for blow all night. With the score tied 24–24 and 10:34 left in the fourth quarter, Saban made the boldest call of his career — the now-legendary pop-up onside kick. Adam Griffith executed it perfectly. Marlon Humphrey secured it. Momentum flipped in an instant. “I made the decision to do it because the score was tied and we were tired on defense,” Saban said. “I felt like if we didn’t do something or take a chance to change the momentum of the game, we wouldn’t have a chance to win.” Moments later, Jake Coker found O.J. Howard uncovered once again for a 51-yard touchdown. Clemson responded, but Kenyan Drake answered with a stunning 95-yard kickoff return TD as the fourth quarter turned into a track meet. Watson finished with over 400 passing yards and four touchdowns, but Henry slammed the door late with his third rushing score. After early-season doubts and a September loss to Ole Miss, the Tide stood on top once more — four national championships in seven seasons, Saban’s fifth overall, and Alabama’s first in the playoff era.

Luke Altmyer is one of the MOST DISRESPECTED QBs in the Big Ten heading into 2025. After a great 2024 season, this Illinois senior is getting ZERO love from analysts and so-called experts. In 2024, Altmyer was a straight-up game-changer for the Illini, leading them to a 10-3 record (tying the program’s single-season wins record) and three Top-25 victories. He had 2,717 passing yards, 22 TDs, just 6 INTs, plus 217 rushing yards and 4 rushing TDs, and he led the nation with FIVE game-winning drives in the final minute or overtime, including clutch TD passes at Nebraska, vs. Purdue, and at Rutgers. He was the only QB in the nation with three game-winning TD passes in the final 2 minutes/OT. He was the only QB in the nation with four TD passes in a Top-25 road win. He was 36th nationally in passing efficiency (144.90) last year, which is within 5 points of Cade Klubnik, Kyle McCord, Quinn Ewers, Jalen Milroe, and Nico Iamaleava—also tied with Fernando Mendoza. He is the first Illini QB since 2013 with 20+ TD passes in a season. All-Big Ten Honorable Mention and a Davey O’Brien Award Class of 2024 member. Despite all these things, the disrespect is still there. Analysts are leaving him completely off their Top-10 CFB QB lists and even Top-5 Big Ten QB rankings. They’re hyping up unproven freshmen like Bryce Underwood and Malik Washington, or guys with minimal starts like Julian Sayin, over a proven QB1 like Altmyer. Even QBs who haven’t matched his production—Nico Iamaleava, Dante Moore, and Dylan Raiola—are getting more shine. And get this: some NFL Draft sites don’t even list Altmyer as a prospect but have Hank Brown and Malachi Singleton on their boards. Are you kidding me? This is the same Luke Altmyer who turned down a massive NIL deal to jump ship to Tennessee—a CFP team last year—because he’s loyal to Illinois and believes in the Illini Luke stayed in Champaign to finish what he started. That’s a 2025 Wooden Citizen Cup nominee and a leader who walks the walk. The Big Ten is stacked, but Altmyer’s one of the top returning QBs alongside Drew Allar. The hype around untested 5-stars is always high and they'll get their shine this season. But Altmyer’s 35 career TD passes (tied for 9th in Illini history), clutch gene, and third year in Lunney’s system make him a game changer. He’s not just a QB; he’s the heart of a team eyeing their first-ever CFP appearance. So, to the analysts, talking heads, and draft sites sleeping on Luke Altmyer: WAKE UP. This man deserves more respect, and he has a chance to show everyone why sleeping on QB1 in Champaign is a huge mistake. Let’s ride, Illini Nation! #Illini #BigTen #AltmyerSZN

🚨HERASKEVYCH: “WE TRAINED 12 TIMES A WEEK. I FINISHED QUALIFYING IN FIRST PLACE WITH THE BEST RESULTS — BUT UNFORTUNATELY, THAT’S WHERE MY JOURNEY ENDED. THE CAS DECISION IS SHAMEFUL.” Vladyslav Heraskevych (Vladyslav Heraskevych OLY) was invited to the Munich Security Conference, where he briefly spoke with journalists and commented on the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) decision to reject his appeal. HERASKEVYCH: Today we only had a court hearing this morning, and there's already a decision. We're already thinking about our next steps, because I believe the CAS decision is also shameful, but I'll comment in more detail a bit later. I need to familiarize myself with it in more detail. The hearing itself was, in my opinion, rather one-sided. I didn't hear anything we couldn't answer. Yet at the same time, there were no responses to any of our arguments. And it was very strange for me to see such a decision from CAS. The preparation took quite a long time, and for the athlete, for me, I was probably in the best form of my career. You could say I've been working toward this my entire career. If we're talking specifically about results, the training camps were excellent. I finished the qualifying training in first place with the best result. Unfortunately, that’s where my journey ended. Of course, along the way there were many sacrifices and many training sessions. On average we did 12 training sessions a week, and well, that's truly a massive amount, and they were exhausting. And unfortunately, all of this led to us not being able to compete due to the unlawful actions of the NOC. Q: If I may ask a question: how are you feeling right now? HERASKEVYCH: Right now I'm still in a state... I really haven't slept much these last 4 days, and we constantly have so many updates coming in. I honestly can't quite keep up with observing everything that's happening. I knew many athletes personally, and the idea came up a long time ago. We managed to execute it just shortly before the Olympics. It was painted by a wonderful artist from Kyiv, Iryna Prots. She painted all of this just like all Ukrainians are living - under shelling, in the cold, without electricity. But at the same time she did an incredible job to honor the memory of these wonderful athletes. Among them, we can talk about many. I'll probably start with Dmytro Sharpar, who was a member of the Olympic team at the 2016 Youth Olympic Games, that same team that I was on. We competed together with him at those Olympic Games and, unfortunately, like other people on this helmet, he was killed by Russia. Video by Ukrainian journalist Andriana Kucher.
