Counter Strike hacking is one of my guilty pleasures. This is a video of an AI tool built into one of the most popular HvH cheats on the market. HvH (Hack vs. Hack) is a game mode where everyone in the lobby is cheating. “If everyone is cheating, then how is it fun?” The game becomes something entirely different in this mode. Instead of focusing on physical reaction time, aim, and movement skills, players must concentrate on the quality of their cheats compared to those used by their opponents. The game essentially turns into a sandbox for software optimization, where cheaters compete against each other to see who has the better-written code and configuration. Players must use every tool available to keep up with everyone else in the scene. My favorite cheat, Anti-Aim (AA), is used to help protect players from getting shot by cleverly exploiting the game mechanics to fake the angle of their hitbox. It works by choking abs yaw packets to exploit a coding error in the game, causing your model’s position to appear bugged to other players. The server processes each command sent by the client in the order it receives them, then it updates animations for each command. After this, the server takes the latest information it has and sends it to other players. If you choke packets, you will essentially send all of your choked commands at the same time. Again, the server will look at what’s latest and send that to other players. Now, you should see the issue clearly: the client is missing loads of information and will start updating animations with incorrect information. This will lead to numerous inaccuracies in their animation state, most importantly their abs yaw (m_flGoalFeetyaw), which indicates where their feet are pointing. The creation of Anti-aim techniques significantly disrupted gameplay, giving users an extra unfair advantage. ZULU WEDDING VOWS💍💛 For cultural context, the elder man shouting (taken from Khuzani Mpungose's wedding) is called iPhoyisa leNkosi, a messenger sent by the local iNkosi. Beyond ensuring that no traditional laws or protocols are violated, iPhoyisa’s MAIN responsibility is to witness & formally administer the vows, publicly confirming that a traditional wedding has indeed taken place. He personally administers the vows & wait for makoti’s response without groom's interference. What the elder is shouting, in essence, is a question to makoti, asking whether she is present out of love & her own free will, whether no one has forced her into the marriage. This moment exists to publicly confirm CONSENT. It is therefore sacred & the optics are absolutely critical. KEY PROTOCOLS & OPTICS 1️⃣ Positioning of iPhoyisa: He must stand away from the crowd, (qekelele), usually in the middle of the field, so that he is clearly identifiable to makoti & visible to everyone present. You believe it can save lives. So you do what free people are supposed to do. You speak. You publish it online. You build an audience. A community forms. Millions read, watch, and share. People write to you saying your work helped them think critically, ask better questions, maybe even protect their health. You didn’t break the law. You didn’t fabricate data. You didn’t incite violence. You asked questions. Then one day, without warning, everything disappears. Your account is gone. Your reach collapses. Your years of work vanish from feeds overnight. Not because you deleted it. Not because a court found you guilty of anything. But because a “nonprofit” based out of the UK issued a report labeling you a “misinformation superspreader.” They pull a bogus stat out of thin air, then weaponize it to say you are “killing people.” The media amplifies it. Night after night, news anchors repeat the same sinister lie about you. The White House echoes it from the podium. Officials pressure social media companies to “do more” to crack down on you. And then it happens. Your pages have been erased. Your channels have been demonetized. Your voice disappears from your followers’ feeds. The First Amendment didn’t protect you. It was circumvented. Millions who once had access to your message now receive only one narrative. The approved one. The one aligned with trillion-dollar interests and institutional power. And your alleged crime? But over a dozen, all triggered by a stat made out of thin air from overseas. They were called the “Disinformation Dozen.” The CCDH (Center for Countering Digital Hate) claimed that 65% of all anti-vaccine misinformation online came from just 12 individuals. The reality? Facebook later admitted those 12 accounts were responsible for just 0.05% of vaccine-related content views on its platform. This wasn’t a one-off attack. This was a blueprint. After they got away with censoring the “Disinformation Dozen,” they went after you, they went after me, they went after all of us. I was a healthcare worker who simply didn’t like the vax mandates. I started clipping doctors sharing information that went against the narrative. They nuked my Twitter account not once, not twice, but three times. I tried making more accounts. They blocked my phone number from creating new ones. And even if I could make more, they would have nuked those too. Emotions have been running high, but sometimes it is better to let the dust settle before offering an opinion. Many people have every right to feel disappointed. Mukanya has spent decades speaking truth to power, giving a voice to the ordinary Zimbabwean and refusing offers that he believed compromised his principles. That legacy cannot simply be erased. But I also think we should look at this from another angle. Thomas Mapfumo is not accepting a handout. He is not receiving charity. He is being paid for doing what he has done for more than half a century , performing his music. There is a difference. For decades, Mukanya gave Zimbabwe a soundtrack that defined generations. His music inspired, challenged, comforted and united millions. If someone now believes that contribution is worth paying US$1 million for, why should he apologise for earning it? Some will say he has changed. I would ask... At what point do we allow a man to stop fighting and simply enjoy the fruits of his life's work? He has already made his position known over many decades. History has already recorded where he stood. His record speaks for itself. There is little left for him to prove. Not long ago, after his rural home was destroyed by fire, a fundraising appeal reportedly struggled to raise even a fraction of its modest target. That should give us all pause. It is easy to tell a legend to remain uncompromising. It is much harder to support that legend when he needs us. If this performance fee allows Mukanya to enjoy his later years in comfort, surrounded by family, with the dignity he has earned through his own talent, then I genuinely wish him well. Perhaps this chapter may also open the door to something many Zimbabweans, regardless of political persuasion, have quietly wished to see for years , Thomas Mapfumo spending more time back in the country that gave birth to both the man and the music. There is something deeply special about a legend coming home. Every great story deserves a peaceful final chapter, and there is no place like home. Whether you agree with his decision or not, one thing remains unchanged... Thomas Mapfumo's contribution to Zimbabwean music, our liberation story and our national identity was secured long before this performance offer arrived. On March 15th, 2021, an anonymous Twitter user asked Harvard Medical professor Martin Kulldorff a question. “Do you think younger age groups and or people who have already had the virus need to be vaccinated?” Who is Martin Kulldorff? He’s a Harvard Medical School professor for 21 years, a well-known Swedish biostatistician who developed widely used software for disease mapping, the co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration on how to deal with the COVID pandemic, and an advisor to the world’s leading health organizations. What he said was that “Thinking that everyone must be vaccinated is as scientifically flawed as thinking that nobody should get COVID. Vaccines are important for older high-risk people and their caretakers. Those with prior natural infection do not need it, nor do children.” Natural immunity. Is it a myth — a “conspiracy theory” — that once you have been sick from a virus, then you won’t get sick, or as sick, again? In fact, we’ve known for 2,500 years that natural immunity is real. “The same man was never attacked twice, never at least fatally,” wrote Thucydides, describing the plague of Athens. He observed that recovered individuals could safely nurse the sick without falling ill themselves. And yet Twitter censored Martin Kulldorff’s tweet. “Learn why health officials recommend a vaccine,” read a warning that Twitter employees put on it. For most people, the Tweet cannot be replied to, shared or liked. In other words, Twitter had decided that this professor at Harvard Medical School was wrong, and that natural immunity wasn’t really something that could protect you from COVID. Jay Bhattacharya, who’s currently our Director of the National Institutes of Health, and thus one of the highest-ranking public health officials in the world, was a Stanford epidemiologist before that. Twitter put him on a “Trends Blacklist.” Not long before we discovered this, we were told that shadow-banning was a conspiracy theory, because Twitter had said it didn’t shadow-ban. Now the European Commission is trying to censor the entire global internet. They want to put a 140 million Euro fine on X. They want to end anonymity, which was what allowed that question of Kulldorff to be asked. They want to use a “Democracy Shield” program to shield the Commission from democracy. And the Commission wants to impose “chat control” so they can read your private messages. It just gets worse and worse. Unsubstantiated and likely false claims of Russian government election interference through TikTok and social media were made in Romania and in the Czech Republic. Truth is not something that anybody holds as a possession and rather emerges through dialogue. We’ve known that since Plato and Socrates. We need free speech for science, public health, and national security. It’s essential to journalism, democracy, and human freedom. Free speech enabled civilization; censorship threatens it. This is the only political cause that I would die for. And yet there is currently an active coordination between Stanford, Brazil, Australia, and others to impose what I think we can call, without exaggeration, global totalitarianism. They’re pushing for digital identification that will end anonymity online. Why is that? Why are these guys behaving in this way? When Elon Musk took over Twitter on October 28th, 2022, unprecedented insight into multiple secret government mass censorship efforts emerged from this exploration. We had unlimited access to Twitter files. They revealed that the mainstream news reporters, who don’t deserve the name, were demanding censorship. No true journalist demands censorship of his fellow journalists. What emerged from this was an understanding of something we call the “Censorship Industrial Complex,” which directly grew out of the military industrial complex and was run by active or former intelligence community officials who often operate under that banner. It led to multiple congressional investigations and hearings, and it spread across every social media platform. So we now know the censorship that occurred, not just at Twitter, but at YouTube, at Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms. What is the Censorship Industrial Complex? The model isn’t that complicated to understand. The government chooses people whom they call “researchers” to serve as censors. These are government-funded individuals who often come from the intelligence community and foreign policy establishment. They work at non-governmental organizations funded by governments or at universities funded by governments. They conduct “fact checks” to serve as “trusted flaggers.” These “trusted flaggers” demand censorship by social media platforms. It’s all done in secret. They’re looking to censor narratives. This is essential because, as decades of good cognitive science have shown, people understand and retain information through storytelling. We think in terms of stories, not bullet points. They lied when they said false information travels faster than true information. It’s a completely bogus study and involved six seconds of content on Twitter. Who are these people? As of 2020, there were so many former FBI employees at Twitter that they called them “Bu alumni.” They created their own private Slack channel and a crib sheet to onboard new FBI arrivals. Intriguingly, we discovered that the general counsel of the FBI — arguably the second most powerful person of the FBI, or maybe the first, if you think, consider that what their actual job is to decide what the FBI can and can’t do — resigned from FBI in early 2020 and went to Twitter to take the deputy general counsel role. Isn’t that interesting? Somebody in one of the most powerful legal positions in the world would take a junior legal role at a social media company. Why would that be? This email popped up when we were going through Twitter files and it really jumped out at us. It’s from the director of policy at Twitter. “We have seen a sustained if uncoordinated” — supposedly — “effort by the intelligence community to push us to share more information and change our API policies. They’re probing and pushing everywhere they can.” The Hunter Biden laptop censorship occurred later that year. The FBI and the intelligence community discredited accurate, factual information about Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings both before and after the New York Post revealed the contents of his laptop on October 14th, 2020. How could the FBI spread false information about something that nobody knew about? Because the FBI had Hunter Biden’s laptop, which showed his family’s massive influence peddling scheme. It consisted of accepting tens of millions of dollars, including from the Chinese government. The FBI had been sitting on that laptop since December of 2019. They had been given it by the computer repair store owner, who had been given the laptop by Hunter Biden, likely because he dropped it in his bathtub or in the pool, when he was on one of his many crack and alcohol benders. The government strategy is always the same: spread disinformation first, then demand censorship of accurate information on the basis of it . “The FBI came to us in the summer of 2020,” Mark Zuckerberg told Joe Rogan two years later, “and they were like, ‘Hey, you should be on the alert. We thought that there was a lot of Russian propaganda in 2016. There’s about to be some kind of dump.’” In the summer of 2020, the New York Post had not published the story about the Hunter Biden laptop. It would only come out in October. We see something very interesting show up in the Twitter files: the Aspen Institute, an intermediary between the intelligence community and the public. It’s known as a Davos-style gab fest in the United States. It’s also the place where intelligence community operations are run. They hosted a workshop to train reporters and all of the social media’s top censorship officials, known as “trust and safety officials,” how to deal with a story they would hear in the future relating to Hunter Biden and Barisma. A few months earlier, the Stanford Cyber Policy Center had published a report attacking what we in the United States call the Pentagon Papers Principle. The Pentagon Papers Principle says that if a government official gives me, a journalist, a bunch of Pentagon documents showing that we’re losing the war in Vietnam, I, as a journalist, can publish them, and not risk prison. That was decided in a famous Supreme Court case in 1971. Stanford argued that, really, we should get rid of that principle, which may be the most important investigative journalism principle in the United States, and said, “You should cover the person who leaked the materials, not the leaked emails.” In other words, you should cover and expose the whistleblower. The person who exposed the Pentagon Papers is the real bad guy, not the DOD, CIA, and presidents who had lied to us for over a decade. Stanford was training the journalists and the social media trust and safety officers in how to cover a story that had not yet come out. This is known as “pre-bunking,” and it’s also part of the European Union strategy to shield themselves from democracy. When the Hunter Biden story appeared October 22nd, Twitter’s trust and safety censorship official said it didn’t violate its terms of service. There’s nothing illegal about any of this. The Supreme Court has made it very clear that you’re allowed to report on information that’s been leaked to you. At that moment, the former FBI general counsel, Jim Baker, argued vigorously that Twitter really needed to censor it. Baker won and they censored the story. It’s not that we didn’t hear about the Hunter Biden laptop story when it came out. I certainly did. But we had the impression that there was something wrong with it, that it was not really the whole story. And so many of us dismissed it. What they had done was a psyop on this major story. They had changed our perception of the story. And it worked. It worked on me, it worked on everybody I knew. What is the role of the intelligence community of social media companies? The former CIA people are the head of elections at Meta, and Google’s head of trust and safety. Former and current CIA officers have a history of spreading misinformation and promoting the Russiagate conspiracy theory. We now know that between 2018 and 2023, there were 36 people from the CIA 68 from the FBI 44, from the National Security Administration and 68 from the Department of Homeland Security who had moved to work at the social media platforms. This is not unique to the United States. My colleague Cecilia Jilková, the daughter of famous Czech dissidents, discovered that European Union officials claimed, days before the European elections in 2024, that a “pro-Kremlin website” was spreading propaganda and were paying off European politicians. That was the headline in Politico. We wrote to them and asked, “Where’s the evidence of this? Just go ahead and share the evidence to support your accusation days before the European parliamentary elections.” Nobody was arrested. They never produced the evidence. The former Czech president, Václav Klaus, who was accused of this, said, “We don’t even know what the ‘Voice of Europe’ is.” Another Czech politician said, “How could I have known it would be a security threat? At the time I gave the interview, they weren’t on any list.” Another said, “If they’re such a big threat, why did the European Parliament let the Voice of Europe’s journalists inside?” Nobody responded. Nobody talked to us. This was a disinformation campaign carried by Politico, which, in my view, is a suspect publication. In the spring of 2022, Barack Obama went to Stanford to give a speech at the Stanford Cyber Policy Center run by Michael McFaul, his former ambassador to Russia. Obama said misinformation harms democracy and urged support for legislation in Congress that would empower government-appointed researchers to serve as “trusted flaggers.” Six days later, the Department of Homeland Security rolled out their Disinformation Governance Board. What a coincidence that they got Obama to frame the issue for them. Facebook in 2021 censored accurate vaccine information so the White House would help it to get data from Europe. In addition to removing vaccine misinformation, wrote Facebook to the White House, we have been focused on reducing the virality of content discouraging vaccines that does not contain actionable misinformation. White House said jump, and Facebook said how high? Why did they do it? Why would they voluntarily censor? This also emerged from the Facebook files. Nick Clegg on the left wrote an email to his colleagues. He said, “My sense is that given we’ve got bigger fish, we have to fry with the administration, e.g., data flows, it doesn’t seem like a great place for us to be.” Data flows. What’s he talking about? He’s talking about billions of dollars worth of business that he has to, that they would have to pay the European Commission for if they didn’t have the support from the Biden administration to lean on the European Commission. In other words, this was a shakedown by the White House of Facebook and it worked in France, the country of Liberté. Turns out it has a special role.... On March 15th, 2021, an anonymous Twitter user asked Harvard Medical professor Martin Kulldorff a question. “Do you think younger age groups and or people who have already had the virus need to be vaccinated?” Who is Martin Kulldorff? He’s a Harvard Medical School professor for 21 years, a well-known Swedish biostatistician who developed widely used software for disease mapping, the co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration on how to deal with the COVID pandemic, and an advisor to the world’s leading health organizations. What he said was that “Thinking that everyone must be vaccinated is as scientifically flawed as thinking that nobody should get COVID. Vaccines are important for older high-risk people and their caretakers. Those with prior natural infection do not need it, nor do children.” Natural immunity. Is it a myth — a “conspiracy theory” — that once you have been sick from a virus, then you won’t get sick, or as sick, again? In fact, we’ve known for 2,500 years that natural immunity is real. “The same man was never attacked twice, never at least fatally,” wrote Thucydides, describing the plague of Athens. He observed that recovered individuals could safely nurse the sick without falling ill themselves. And yet Twitter censored Martin Kulldorff’s tweet. “Learn why health officials recommend a vaccine,” read a warning that Twitter employees put on it. For most people, the Tweet cannot be replied to, shared or liked. In other words, Twitter had decided that this professor at Harvard Medical School was wrong, and that natural immunity wasn’t really something that could protect you from COVID. Jay Bhattacharya, who’s currently our Director of the National Institutes of Health, and thus one of the highest-ranking public health officials in the world, was a Stanford epidemiologist before that. Twitter put him on a “Trends Blacklist.” Not long before we discovered this, we were told that shadow-banning was a conspiracy theory, because Twitter had said it didn’t shadow-ban. Now the European Commission is trying to censor the entire global internet. They want to put a 140 million Euro fine on X. They want to end anonymity, which was what allowed that question of Kulldorff to be asked. They want to use a “Democracy Shield” program to shield the Commission from democracy. And the Commission wants to impose “chat control” so they can read your private messages. It just gets worse and worse. Unsubstantiated and likely false claims of Russian government election interference through TikTok and social media were made in Romania and in the Czech Republic. Truth is not something that anybody holds as a possession and rather emerges through dialogue. We’ve known that since Plato and Socrates. We need free speech for science, public health, and national security. It’s essential to journalism, democracy, and human freedom. Free speech enabled civilization; censorship threatens it. This is the only political cause that I would die for. And yet there is currently an active coordination between Stanford, Brazil, Australia, and others to impose what I think we can call, without exaggeration, global totalitarianism. They’re pushing for digital identification that will end anonymity online. Why is that? Why are these guys behaving in this way? When Elon Musk took over Twitter on October 28th, 2022, unprecedented insight into multiple secret government mass censorship efforts emerged from this exploration. We had unlimited access to Twitter files. They revealed that the mainstream news reporters, who don’t deserve the name, were demanding censorship. NASA’s Habitable Worlds Observatory: the telescope designed to search for another Earth. NASA is already developing the technologies for what could become one of the most ambitious astronomical observatories ever built. The Habitable Worlds Observatory, or HWO, is being conceived as NASA’s next major flagship astrophysics mission after the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. Its defining objective is extraordinarily simple to state and extraordinarily difficult to achieve: directly photograph rocky planets similar to Earth around nearby Sun-like stars and analyze their atmospheres for evidence that some of them might support life. NASA’s current science goal is to directly image and characterize roughly 25 potentially habitable worlds. HWO is not simply a larger version of Hubble or Webb. It combines lessons from Hubble, JWST and Roman with technology developed during the earlier LUVOIR and HabEx mission studies. NASA is currently exploring several possible architectures rather than committing to a final telescope design. The engineering concepts being studied include a 6-meter segmented off-axis telescope, another 6-meter configuration using a central keystone-shaped mirror surrounded by segments, and an 8-meter on-axis design. NASA explicitly warns that none of these should yet be interpreted as the final appearance of HWO. The reason such a large telescope is required becomes obvious when we consider what HWO is trying to see. An Earth-like planet observed in reflected visible light can be approximately ten billion times fainter than its host star. Worse, from tens of light-years away the planet appears extremely close to that star in the sky. HWO must therefore separate two sources that are both enormously different in brightness and separated by only a tiny angle. It is rather like trying to detect an extraordinarily faint point of light immediately beside a searchlight, except that both are light-years away. NASA’s technology development is consequently aimed at contrasts approaching 10⁻¹⁰. The baseline solution is an extremely advanced coronagraph located inside HWO. A coronagraph suppresses the light from the star while allowing light from surrounding planets to reach the detector. This sounds straightforward, but at a contrast of one part in ten billion, tiny imperfections in the optical system become important. Minute distortions of a mirror can scatter enough starlight into the image to imitate or completely hide a planet. HWO will therefore combine coronagraphic masks with deformable mirrors, precision wavefront sensing and active wavefront control to create an exceptionally dark region around the stellar image where planets can be detected. NASA refers to the process of creating this high-contrast region as digging a coronagraphic “dark hole.” This is why HWO also needs to be one of the most optically stable spacecraft ever constructed. NASA says its optical system may need to remain stable at scales comparable to the width of an atom, while wavefront control requirements reach into the picometer regime. Thermal changes, mechanical vibration, reaction-wheel disturbances, structural creep and even very small motions between individual primary-mirror segments can destroy the contrast required to see an Earth analogue. Technologies under development therefore include ultra-stable mirror assemblies, extremely stiff structures, millikelvin-level thermal control, low-disturbance mechanisms, precision segment sensing and control, vibration isolation and microthrusters. One of the most visually striking technologies associated with HWO is the huge flower-shaped starshade seen in many NASA demonstrations. The flower shape is not decorative. A starshade is an external occulter: instead of blocking the star inside the telescope, an independent spacecraft places an enormous opaque screen between the telescope and the target star. The telescope then sits inside the extraordinarily dark shadow created behind it while the light from planets located slightly to either side of the star continues past the shade and reaches the telescope. A simple circular disk would not work well enough because light diffracts around its edge. In fact, diffraction would partially refill the shadow with stellar light. The strange elongated petals are engineered specifically to manipulate that Fresnel diffraction pattern. Their carefully calculated edges make the transition between opaque and transparent space gradual from the point of view of the propagating wavefront, dramatically suppressing diffracted starlight in the central shadow. In other words, the “flower” exists because of wave optics: each petal contributes to shaping the diffraction field so that the telescope occupies a region where the stellar electric field is almost cancelled. NASA laboratory demonstrations have already achieved broadband starshade contrasts below approximately 10⁻¹⁰ at flight-like Fresnel numbers. A flight starshade for an observatory such as HWO would be enormous. Different concepts range from roughly 35 to 60 meters or more in diameter, while experimental NASA concepts have investigated sizes approaching 100 meters for other applications. It would fly tens of thousands of kilometers from HWO; current technology studies commonly consider separations of order 100,000 km, depending on starshade diameter and wavelength. Both spacecraft would have to maintain extremely accurate alignment with the target star while effectively operating as a single optical instrument across an enormous baseline. There is an important distinction, however. NASA currently plans HWO around an internal coronagraph, not around a starshade. Coronagraphs have major operational advantages: they are integrated into the telescope, can move rapidly from one target to another and do not require a second giant spacecraft to reposition itself across interplanetary-scale distances. A starshade, by contrast, would require substantial propulsion every time it moved between target stars and would introduce another complex spacecraft and formation-flying system. Nevertheless, NASA continues to study starshades because they have attractive properties. They suppress starlight before it enters the telescope, are relatively insensitive to many telescope optical imperfections and could extend HWO’s scientific capability, potentially including wavelengths where internal coronagraphy becomes particularly challenging. NASA’s Habitable Worlds Observatory: the telescope designed to search for another Earth. NASA is already developing the technologies for what could become one of the most ambitious astronomical observatories ever built. The Habitable Worlds Observatory, or HWO, is being conceived as NASA’s next major flagship astrophysics mission after the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. Its defining objective is extraordinarily simple to state and extraordinarily difficult to achieve: directly photograph rocky planets similar to Earth around nearby Sun-like stars and analyze their atmospheres for evidence that some of them might support life. NASA’s current science goal is to directly image and characterize roughly 25 potentially habitable worlds. HWO is not simply a larger version of Hubble or Webb. It combines lessons from Hubble, JWST and Roman with technology developed during the earlier LUVOIR and HabEx mission studies. NASA is currently exploring several possible architectures rather than committing to a final telescope design. The engineering concepts being studied include a 6-meter segmented off-axis telescope, another 6-meter configuration using a central keystone-shaped mirror surrounded by segments, and an 8-meter on-axis design. NASA explicitly warns that none of these should yet be interpreted as the final appearance of HWO. The reason such a large telescope is required becomes obvious when we consider what HWO is trying to see. An Earth-like planet observed in reflected visible light can be approximately ten billion times fainter than its host star. Worse, from tens of light-years away the planet appears extremely close to that star in the sky. HWO must therefore separate two sources that are both enormously different in brightness and separated by only a tiny angle. It is rather like trying to detect an extraordinarily faint point of light immediately beside a searchlight, except that both are light-years away. NASA’s technology development is consequently aimed at contrasts approaching 10⁻¹⁰. The baseline solution is an extremely advanced coronagraph located inside HWO. A coronagraph suppresses the light from the star while allowing light from surrounding planets to reach the detector. This sounds straightforward, but at a contrast of one part in ten billion, tiny imperfections in the optical system become important. Minute distortions of a mirror can scatter enough starlight into the image to imitate or completely hide a planet. HWO will therefore combine coronagraphic masks with deformable mirrors, precision wavefront sensing and active wavefront control to create an exceptionally dark region around the stellar image where planets can be detected. NASA refers to the process of creating this high-contrast region as digging a coronagraphic “dark hole.” This is why HWO also needs to be one of the most optically stable spacecraft ever constructed. NASA says its optical system may need to remain stable at scales comparable to the width of an atom, while wavefront control requirements reach into the picometer regime. Thermal changes, mechanical vibration, reaction-wheel disturbances, structural creep and even very small motions between individual primary-mirror segments can destroy the contrast required to see an Earth analogue. Technologies under development therefore include ultra-stable mirror assemblies, extremely stiff structures, millikelvin-level thermal control, low-disturbance mechanisms, precision segment sensing and control, vibration isolation and microthrusters. The concept of technocracy has roots in ancient ideas like Plato's philosopher kings, and it gained traction during the Industrial Revolution and the Great Depression. Technocracy emphasizes the use of technical expertise in decision making often prioritizing scientific evidence and data over political considerations or public opinion. Sounds good in some aspects but it doesn't work overall. So, as counterculture, this sexual revolution, and darker occult practices, like Satanism and Paganism, etc., started to rise up, elites and governments started to catch on to these beliefs and practices and big money went into funding the creation of some institutions, non-profits and other programs along with projects in intelligence agencies in the U.S. and others. This overall takeover of the West and society was both calculated and non-intentional in a way. But from big names involved, The Esalen Institute was born. A non-profit in Big Sur, California that focuses on humanistic alternative education. The Institute played a key role in the Human Potential Movement beginning in the 1960s. The Esalen Institute was founded by Michael Murphy and Dick Price in 1962. It is basically the "think tank" of counterculture and the sexual revolution, promoted by very wealthy and influential people. Their intention was to support alternative methods for exploring human conscientiousness, promoting that everything is divine. One major thing you must understand that the roots of many of the people in Esalen were all into Satanic occult type belief systems and paganistic practices, like from the teachings of Anton LaVey and Aliester Crowley, who both were heavily involved in Satanism and also into pedophil*a and transhumanistic beliefs. Crowley was also a part of British Intelligence/MI5, and heavy into altering the mind with drugs and substances to make contact and change conscientiousness and to be like their own god. Other notable figures of Esalen was Timothy Leary, a psychologist who is also known for his advocacy of psychedelic experiences, a prominent figure of the counterculture movement and heavily into Aliester Crowley's sex revolution beliefs. All these sexual beliefs are associated transhumanism, transgenderism, and pedophil*a. Which is no coincidence why you see the heavy push for this on our society and on our children today. Another very prominent name and usual suspect is David Rockefeller who heavily promoted and funded the Esalen Institution and any others like it and donated millions of dollars to them every single year from the 1970s to around 2004. Rockefeller wasn't the only one and this is just one piece of this overall plan to destroy the West and society itself to bring in this new world. Let's move on. The Tavistock Institution of human relations is a British non-profit reaserch and consulting organization, specialising in the study of group behavior. They also have sister companies in China and Germany, and it was established in 1947. They explained about how they needed to convince man that man is the problem. You are the problem but you can change yourself. Feb 4, 1932, A Brave New World, and then, A Brave New World Revisited was written. But the sexual revolution is the most important and last step. The fall of Rome also occurred when this type of sexual activity occurred as well. Something to really take into consideration and compare it to where we are now. Every single one of these ideologies and beliefs all stem from these wealthy elite individuals, institutions and belief systems that they all planned decades ago and it's literally happening right in front of us. There is so much more to this but this gives you an introduction or a starting point to connect the dots of where it all came from during the past century, which directly is impacting our lives and society. VEO 2 by Google DeepMind : MY CHEAT SHEET Alright, so after 500h-ish spent on VEO and giving birth to both "Kitsune" and "Banished", tons of people asked for a making-of. Instead, I decided to give you what I actually know of VEO 2 to this day. Please share! it's made to be spread around! 1/ If you're not using a LLM (Gemini, ChatGPT, whatever), you're doing it wrong. VEO 2 currently has a sweet spot when it comes to prompt length: too short is poor, too long drops information, action, description etc. I did a lot of back and forth to find my sweet spot, but once I got in a place I thought felt right, I used a LLM to help me keep my structure, length, and help me draft actions. I would then spent an extensive amount of time tweaking, iterating, removing words, changing order, adding others, but the draft would come from a LLM and a conversation I built and trained to understand what my structure looked like, what was a success, or a failure. I would also share the prompts working well for further reference, and sharing the failures also for further reference. This would ensure my LLM conversation became a true companion. 2/ Structure, structure, structure Structure is important. Each recipe is different but same as any GenAI text-to something, it looks like the "higher on the prompt has more weight" rule applies. So, in my case I would start by describing the aesthetics I am looking for, time of day, colors, mood, then move to camera, subject, action, and all the rest. Once again, you might have a different experience but what is important is to stick to whatever structure you have as you move forward. Keeping it organized also makes it easier to edit later. 3/ Only describe what you see in the frame If you have a character you want to keep consistent, but you want a close-up on the face for example, your reflex will be to describe the character from head to toe and then mention you want a close-up...It's not that simple. If I tell VEO I want a face close-up but then proceed to describe the character's feet, the close-up mention will be dropped by VEO... Once again, the LLM can help you in this by giving it the instruction to only describe what is in the frame. 4/ Patience Well, it can get costly to be patient, but even if you repeat the same structure, sometimes changing one word can still throw the entire thing out and totally change the aesthetics of your scene. It is by nature extremely consistent if you conserve most words, but sometimes it happens. In those situations, trace your steps back and try to figure out which words are triggering a larger change. 5/ Documenting When I started "Kitsune" (and did the same for all others), the first thing I did was start a Figjam file so I could save the successful prompts and come back to them for future reference. Why Figjam? So I could also upload 1 to 4 generations from this prompt, and browse through them in the future. 6/ VEO is the Midjourney of video Currently, no text-to-video tool (Minimax being the closest behind) gave me a feeling I could provide strong art directions and actually get them. I have been a designer for nearly 20 years, and art direction to me has been one of the strongest foundations of most of my work. Dark, light, happy, sad, colorful or not, it doesn't matter as long as you have a point of view and please...have a point of view. Recently watched a great video about the slow death of art direction in film (link in comments) and oh boy, did VEO 2 deliver on giving me the feeling I was listened. Try starting your prompts with different kinds of medium (watercolor for example), the mood you are trying to achieve, the kind of lighting you want, the dust in the rays of light, etc... which gets me to the next one 7/ You can direct your colors in VEO It's as simple as mentioning the hues you want to have in the final result, in which quantity, and where. When I direct shots, I am constantly describing colors for two reasons: 1. Well, having a point of view and 2. reaching better consistency through text-to-video. If I have a strong and consistent mood but my character is slightly different because of text-to-video, the impact won't be dramatic because a strong art direction helps a lot with consistency. 8/ Describe your life away Some people asked me how I achieved a good consistency between shots knowing it's only text-to-video and the answer is simple: I describe my characters, their unique traits, their clothing, their haircut, etc..anything which could help someone visually impaired have a very precise mental representation of the subject. 9/ But don't describe too much either... It would be magical if you could stuff 3000 words in the window and have exactly what you asked for, right? Well, it turns out VEO is amazing with its prompt adherence, but there is always a moment where it starts dropping animations or visual elements when your prompt stretches for a tad too long. This actually happens way before the character limit allowed by VEO is reached, so don't overdo it, it's no use and will play against the results. For info, 200-250 words seems like a sweet spot! 10/ Natural movements but... VEO is great with natural movements and this is also one of the reasons why I used it so extensively: people walking don't walk in slow-motion. That being said, don't try to be too ambitious on some of the expected movements: multiple camera movements won't work, full 360 revolutions around a subject won't work, anime-style crazy camera movements won't work, etc... what it can do is already great, but there are still some limitations...
