Also!! Lemme add- When you start in this business, you do every job under the sun. Some roles, you realize, you’re not great at. Which, if you listened to the pod, you would have heard her say + also how much she respects that role. But you didn’t listen, you read a tweet.

You are a loser yourself making these comments. Male or female makes no difference. Making things up clearly shows why @CharissaT should not be respected. To give her a pass and basically imply, it’s no big deal. Makes you just as much of a disgrace as she is.

It’s not just that women in sports aren’t taken seriously. These sideline reports just aren’t taken serious in general. Have been watching football for 20 years and can’t remember a single meaningful one outside of injury updates

This video has something that Twitter too often lacks - nuance. Most people haven't even watched the interview, just seen the headline/graphic.

What an absolutely terrible take. No one "has to make up a story." Ever. You choose to do it.

@zachzachzach Because women in sports hate other women in sports while pretending to be a sisterhood on instagram and twitter

We ask why women can’t be taken seriously in sports, but are giving her a pass for not only saying that she’s blatantly lied about doing her job but dared to say “I’ve said this before and didn’t get fired” like she’s above all other reporters? Because she said “she would never do it again” and “hated the ROI” doesn't excuse lying and fabricating words that were never spoken. I’ve been very fortunate to work with and learn from some of the best female journalists and reporters around the NFL, and what was said was a slap in the face to the hard work they do. Why can’t women in sports be taken seriously? Let's start by asking why this comment should be ok.

Not dragging the profession, maybe she just wasn't good at it. That's why Lisa Salters and others are rightfully pissed about this. If it was one or two upset then maybe you have something, but it's literally dozens.

I guess I’m confused… Is the claim that she had to make stuff up because male coaches were not talking to her because she is a woman? If that is the case, it’s not good. But if you need to be taken seriously at every turn, then making stuff up doesn’t seem like a good strategy.

No coach wants to talk to any media going into halftime. Male or female
